    Engine to Chassie Ground

If I remember correctly, on my '82 with a 305, it was on the back of the head, to the firewall. Not certain that's the correct one you're wanting, since the firewall isn't the chassis. I did pull a grounding strap off of this area on mine though.

Welcome from Kansas. A real nice survivor you have there. Great year too (mine is an '82 as well).

    Wheel lip rubbing on UCA’s

In theory, cutting part of the coil will shorten the gap distance between the upper and lower control arms, thus pushing the wheel out a little on the bottom. However I think then once you do an alignment, it will just be right back where you started, so nothing gained. How bad is it rubbing...

    1985 C10 Lowered with 20's front and 22's rear

Welcome to the forum. I've not seen any pictures of a setup like that of any forum members' trucks here that I recall. Your best bet may be a Google image search for that setup.

First start, break in procedure questions...

Thanks for the replies fellas. I like the tip of the garden hose too, vs filing with coolant just to waste it on the ground.

    2000 camaro ss

LKQ is a national salvage / recycling yard chain. I think the main site is "lkqonline.com" or something similar. I used to work for the local yard here, and at that time there was one in Tulsa, OKC, and Dallas that were all operated by the same owner at the one I worked at (Topeka). They have...

    2000 camaro ss

Hmmm. Couldn't find a dash out of an F-body in a salvage yard? A couple of years ago, F-body's were very common in the yards around here (KS). LKQ is one of them, and they are a national chain, so one could be found here, and shipped to your local LKQ.

First start, break in procedure questions...

Okay, so I've read through multiple post on here regarding break in procedures for a new engine / cam, and threads regarding setting the timing, and making sure that you're getting oil pressure to the engine first, then start for the first time, so you don't dry fire it. Here's where I'm...

Looking into a new compact car.

Sippers can be a great option for those of us who drive more than 60 miles a day, and can be great to save miles on the "nice" cars to be used on the weekend. A good friend of mine has a spark, to save miles off his '14 Silverado, and 69 Duster (I may have the year wrong). He loves getting the...

New truck, trying to understand its molestation - carb/intake

Welcome, from Kansas. Not sure of your question, and I probably wouldn't be of much help either. I have the same engine / carb combo, but I'm in the process of rebuilding, and getting rid of a lot of the crap that's there from the factory.

    Well crap

Yea, that doesn't look good, but I agree with 84 M1008. Looks to be either debris in the bearings against the crank, or a dry start. Good Lord this makes me nervous.... I just assembled my engine (305) this past weekend. I did a very thorough job with assembly lube and correct torque, but...

    Old77's 1989 S10 tinkering project

My favorite S-10 wheels were the ones that LOOKED like the IROC wheels, but came on the S-10 from the factory, with the sport appearance package. I ordered a new S-10 back in 2001 with this package, and it looked very sexy. Mine was black, and I ordered no bells and whistles. Just the 4.3V6...

    Carb with no choke

Not sure how that would work. What's your reason for not running a choke? Don't want to run an electrical wire? Maybe try a manual choke. I had a manual choke I installed on a 350 Buick Skylark back in the day, and it worked just fine.

    Old77's 1989 S10 tinkering project

I like the Xtreme wheels. Plus silver painted / clear coated are easy to care for in the shitty winter weather we get in Chief country.

Tap head bolt / intake bolt holes on rebuild?

Yep, I got the full recommendation from the shop on how to clean the block before I started assembly. He told me they do the work, parts wash, then spray down with oil so that things won't rust, but he admitted that it's not ready for assembly then. I'll need to clean it. I could tell I'd have...

    Quadrajet tuning made easy

I've never seen a Quadrajet for sale locally, but I've seen a few, rebuilt, cleaned, and ready to go for $200. Not sure if that's what they're selling for or not, but that's what they're asking.

    Quadrajet tuning made easy

This is a timely thread. I'll be attempting to rebuild my first Quadrajet here in a week or two, now that I'm going back together with my engine. Watched all 3 videos, and it seems straight forward.

Tap head bolt / intake bolt holes on rebuild?

Yep, this is exactly what I wanted, and therefore did yesterday. I purchased the 2 sizes of stainless bolts needed ($9 investment). I ground a groove approx 3/4" to 1" up the threads, which left a void in the bolt. I then used only finger pressure to chase all head bolt holes, intake bolt...
