81 up dash pad anyone bought one recently

Where is their store front? I live in Topeka, and would drive a little ways to remove the $25 shipping charge I just paid YESTERDAY for new door seals.

    Cutting coils

Keep in mind, if you do cut even 1 coil out of your springs, you will more than likely need lowered shocks as well. Ask me how I know. I have a great front set of brand new KYB's that I couldn't install.

    Flaky CL MF ‘ers….

I'm with you Grit Dog. I don't even like listing on CL anymore. It takes more time weeding through the BS purchasers that "want to buy now, give me your bank account so I can transfer the funds" than it's worth sometimes. Fortunately, it seems pretty easy to get through those without being taken...

    Show your daily driver

Those Fusions were pretty good cars. My B.I.L. has one (hybrid) that he will give to his son when he turns 16 later this year. Nice looking car, and he has driven the $h!t out of it with minimal issues thus far.

pros and cons going with 4" rear drop leaf springs and lowering shackles to lower the rear.

Look great, even with the load in the back, the stance is really nice. Good job!

    Going square, again.

    Prove it... we need pictures!

What have you done to your square lately??

I got all of my lights working (except headlights, have to replace the plugs on the wiring harness first) for the first time in over 10 years! I really like how the amber lights look on this yellow truck.

'83 305 No more ESC, but now it is dieseling

I just went through the initial timing on my 305. It's freshly re-built, so that may make a little difference, but I set it at 12* advanced to start with, and I got really lucky because that's where it's actually running best at right now.

    TH350 Reverse doesn't work

Thanks again for the reply @Matt69olds The main problem here is that I don't "know" that the trans was good before my install of the shift kit. The fluid looked good, was full, and didn't smell burnt or look like it had any water in it. So I drained it, installed the shift kit following...

    TH350 Reverse doesn't work

Quick question @Matt69olds .... I do remember now that after I got back for my first short drive. I was in the shop (level floor) and when in reverse I gave it a little throttle, and the trans jumped before it did move. Felt like wheel hop or that the trans mount wasn't secured. The wheels did...

    TH350 Reverse doesn't work

Hmm, I'd have to look back at my kit (I think I still have the kit box) and look at the instructions. That or I wonder if I can get the instructions again without purchasing the kit again... Of course that all means I have to drain and remove the transmission pan and open it up again to check. I...

    TH350 Reverse doesn't work

Like the title says pretty much.. Got the truck running and verified I got forward (all 3 gears) and reverse while on jack stands. Went ahead and took it for a quick spin around the block. Once I got back, the truck wouldn't back back into the garage. The drive is slightly up hill, and it just...

    84 OEM Cruise Control

My '82 with factory cruise, looked like this. I removed it since this picture though, since it was incomplete, and a mess of wiring. It's the silver piece with the vacuum lines running to it, sitting on the tire in the picture below. Bolts to the drivers side inner fender, like in the other...

Confirmed wiring issue, engine won't crank over

Yes, I will definitely fix it correctly. This was a temp solution to make sure I had everything connected to the correct wires to start with. The wire coming from the starter does in fact have the fusable link in it as it should. The wire coming down from the block on the firewall s/b connected...

Confirmed wiring issue, engine won't crank over

I wanted to update my thread wit what I found was wrong with the truck. After several hours of tracing wires under the dash, finding NOTHING wrong with any of them, or the switches (including the ignition switch) they went to, my dad and I were finally able to brainstorm for a bit, and we found...

Confirmed wiring issue, engine won't crank over

That's a thought for sure. Although hopefully I have parts before I make it back over there. I usually only get there to work on the truck on the weekends. Although it is close enough to make a quick trip to drop off or pick up things if needed.

Confirmed wiring issue, engine won't crank over

I also noticed while looking over the fuse block/panel under the dash, that from the GM service manual, it shows that slot 1 in the diagrams there are circuit breakers. I have no clue what those are, but I do NOT have one in the truck... Maybe that's my issue? Although when I look at the manual...

Confirmed wiring issue, engine won't crank over

Thanks for the quick tip / lesson there Bruce. I agree that I may need this, and I know for a fact I need the turn signal switch, so I'm going to purchase both and get them coming. Might even get a Neutral Safety switch as well, but I don't think this is the issue (just to have one on hand)...

Confirmed wiring issue, engine won't crank over

Okay, I pulled apart the bulkhead wiring today. It was greasy / grimy, but not bad. I saw maybe a little green corrosion on the main 12ga wire that comes into the bulkhead wiring bundle with 12 volts. It's a red wire. I cleaned all the wires and pins up, and even pulled that pin and made sure it...

Having some rub on inner fender well

Agreed. My 2001 Silverado did this from time to time, when at the bottom of a hill or something. It never ruined any of my tires, and just kept the under side of the inner fender shinny. ;)

Confirmed wiring issue, engine won't crank over

@Justins truck, no, I didn't separate those. I guess I didn't even know you could separate the junction block. I'll have to look up how to do that. I agree, it almost seems as though there is something wrong with that. Any pointers on how it removes? Mine is dirty, but it doesn't look damaged in...

Confirmed wiring issue, engine won't crank over

If that fusable link you're referencing was bad, would I have power all the way up to the firewall? Sounds to me like it would kill the power right there by the starter, and I wouldn't be getting 12V up to my power block, or to the plug going into the firewall. I do believe that part of the...

Confirmed wiring issue, engine won't crank over

Hi all. This is a confirmed wiring issue. Long story short (if you want the long version, check out my build thread) I installed the battery in my truck, and wired everything up where I "think" it should go. I am not 100% positive, because there are some spliced wires, cut wires, and overall...

Anyone dealt with LMC Trucks for parts?

I've ordered from them probably 4-6 times in the past year. Just placed an order yesterday, and never had to do that. Maybe it's the total on the order? Question, why order exhaust from LMC? One could get a factory style replacement muffler, and then have a local shop build the exhaust for...
