Howdy and welcome! Don't sit on your experience with bodywork! It's a lost art and I'm slowly collecting knowledge before I try replacing the bottoms of my door skins.

79 Stepside - round connectors on rear wiring harness?

I'm planning to change my bulbs to LEDs as well. From what I've gathered, it seems that you may want to install a relay and/or draw power from the battery to protect your newly installed diodes. These folks might have something useful to you, but I'll keep an eye out to see what you do...

Best headlights to use, NOT LED

To solve that issue, I've been looking into getting a mild tint for the windshield. Has autoglass changed too much in 40 years to make that worth doing?

Pennsylvania, land of salty winter roads.

Welcome to the club, Turbo! I'm sure many would agree that your knowledge and experience is invaluable to our efforts to keep these antiques running.

    Hello World

@TubeTruck Thanks for pointing me towards NHOU. I ordered the basic DIY kit plus a foam gun and degreasing/anti-corrosive soap (bug and tar formula) from Chemical Guys to help with prep. Both orders just came in today, so I must now find a warm-enough space with a vehicle lift to do the work...

    Hello World

Thanks! I've had good experience with WeatherTech. Unfortunately they don't seem to offer a custom fit mat for this vehicle, perhaps due to the variable nature of floor-mounted levers? Now this has got me excited! I'm already looking into getting a DIY setup. I'm kind of surprised there's no...

What is everyone's go to for converting rusty frames nice looking frames

I tried to use compressed air to dry auto parts, but it seemed to blow out moist, rusty air! Is this because I live in the humid midwest? I have also stored air compressed in an air cylinder, could this cause rusted, moist air to ruin my otherwise thorough dry job?

    Replacement panels quality

This right here is why I want to DD my '77 Suburban. Sitting up high surrounded by layers of steel is comforting when out on the public roads. I hope you were unscathed from the impact?

    Hello World

@Arkansas_V8 can you vouch for the quality of their repro tailgates? I was told to seek out an original for ideal fit and function.

    Hello World

This needs to be addressed before winter. The doors, tailgate, and front well wells are not good, but literally ever other body panel looks great, even my rocker panels! The guy who did the resto suggested that he ballsed up and covered the drain holes when he painted the doors. Also; I want to...

    Hello World

Some underside pics. I was blown away at the immaculate quality of the frame rails and body mounts. Truck was converted to on-the-fly 4x4.

Thank you. I'm more and more pleased with this old beast the more miles I put on her.

    Hello World

This is that '88 interior I mentioned. Hidden behind the wheel is a Cobra CB. This amazing truck is fitted with twin A/C compressors and still blows R12, the fella who sold me this truck included an additional tank of R12 with the sale (among a myriad of other parts). My driver seat belt is...

    Hello World

I just had the pleasure of acquiring a '77 Suburban. She's a recently-restored former border patrol truck from AZ. She's all in factory-like condition (updated transfer case, '88 interior) and I want to update the audio without compromising the vintage function and feel of the OEM head.
