Weird Starting Issue After Putting It Back Together

Just to clarify, I will be finding tdc with my stick again, and then I will take the dist cap off and probably find the rotor not pointing at #1 and I will need to turn it so that it does?

Weird Starting Issue After Putting It Back Together

I retarded the timing as far as it would go (vacuum advance hits tranny vac line) and the grinding went away thank god. I didn't know being too far advanced could make a grinding noise? Gonna pull off the distributor cap tomorrow and verify its pointing at #1 at TDC. I don't know how that could...

Weird Starting Issue After Putting It Back Together

Ok ive been adjusting timing and got it to run really rough once. Adjusted some more and now theres an awful grinding sound when i turn the ignition... what did I do? Also when i was checking for tdc it seemed like the marks on my balancer were off. I had a little wood shaft down in the...

Weird Starting Issue After Putting It Back Together

I did have it at tdc before i pulled of the distributor though and put it back in the same position. thought that would avoid a timing issue

Weird Starting Issue After Putting It Back Together

Hey everyone, I just put my K20 back together with a new intake manifold and carb and its not starting. Just bought a new battery so its not that. It is cranking for a second but then stutters like theres some kind of resistance and then repeats. I have fuel flow I can see it in the filter but...

1 ton wheels on 1/2 ton truck?

There you go, someone with an actual good suggestion. Even the load range E trailer tires I showed you were only like 2,800 lbs. This is a much better option. And if your worried about getting stuck in the snow get a winch. If your in the woods behind your house worst case you just winch it all...

1 ton wheels on 1/2 ton truck?

One thing you could do if you really want the extra load capacity is use trailer tires... Obviously there are reasons why you shouldn't but I ran trailer tires on my food truck for a while and apart from having to take turns at like 1 mph they were fine. I definitely wouldnt trust them on a...

    Garage Heater Question

I've only had to deal with temps in the low 30's but I can tell you that walmart sells a little heater with a built in fan for $15 that can get a small room really toasty. One of the few times something cheap and imported actually works better than I expected. I bet two or three would give you...

    Help With Hidden Kill Switch

two separate systems on switches should be good i think. Also going to have a GPS locator but if I have to use it someone is gonna have a real bad day... So I'd rather not have to use it lol.

    Help With Hidden Kill Switch

lol that is clever. I do want my horn though. And ya ill be doing some testing and more research. I was just going to use a simple switch from the distributor but I like this idea better. Doesnt require me to turn anything off when I get out.

    Help With Hidden Kill Switch

thats f'in great. thanks man. Since it is just applying voltage to open the relay I shouldn't have any amperage issues with those tiny things right? I guess it would just depend on what the relay requires to open?

    Help With Hidden Kill Switch

dont worry I was gonna delete the pic after i get it figured out lol. the chances of someone seeing this in the next day or two and finding my truck are pretty slim. Not to mention my double barrel security system... Here in AZ we don't ask questions or wait for explanations.

    Help With Hidden Kill Switch

As I'm putting more time and money into my truck im getting more paranoid because of how easily these are stolen. I think I came up with a great hiding place for a kill switch but I am having trouble finding the switch I would need to make it work. I was wondering if anyone knows where to look...

    Screwed up my ignition switch

This might be a terrible idea but, I would try drilling a small hole in the bit of screwdriver thats left and then maybe you can grab it with a pick of some sort

    Should I Return/Exchange These Headers?

Damn, solved one problem and learned of a new one... I chose these headers specifically because I had found a few reviews that say these are the only headers they have ever found that fit perfectly with no bending or tweaking into my truck. I knew they werent top of the line but I didn't realize...

    Should I Return/Exchange These Headers?

Hey Everyone, Got my new Heddman Hedders for my 79 k20 and was in the process of stripping the protective paint so I could paint them with a ceramic and I found something I wasnt expecting. Looks like one of the spots that they had it clamped during fabrication. It goes almost all the way...
