    Terrible gap

After looking at it closer I think the top of the passenger fender was "rolled out" for lack of better words. I think the previous owner didn't realize it or didn't care and left it with that gap.

    Terrible gap

I agree with grit dog, my truck has been molested. I'm finding a lot of things were done poorly. Thanks for the replies everyone

    Terrible gap

I'm pretty sure they are the original fenders, I see areas of red that match the areas of red on the cab. I ended up putting a long (about 4 foot) level on the upper edge of both fenders and there is a big difference... the level actually rocks in the passenger fender and lays pretty flat on...

    Terrible gap

Here's some pics of the gap on passenger side between the hood and fender on my 79. I'm thinking the passenger fender has been bent out but wanted opinions from others so I'm not missing something. I was getting frustrated trying to make the gaps all over look a little better and noticed this. I...

    73 grille color

I want to repaint my 73 grille. Is it all 1 shade of color or does it have darker ir lighter accents. I can't find a pic good enough to determine myself.

    steering column or shaft

Can anyone hook me up with a steering column that has the double D end for the steering shaft (2 flat spots and center bolt) ...tilt or non-tilt...no headlight dimmer...and no wiper switch. Or a steering shaft with the splined end and rag joint end. My steering column and shaft were replaced...

Headers not hot on 2 and 8

So I switched #2 and #8 wires with each other and all header tubes were over 350 degrees and it ran really smooth until I took it for a ride. I think the ride possibly jostled a bad wire?? I think I'll replace plug wires

Headers not hot on 2 and 8

All new. Maybe I will swap wires and see if the condition follows the wires.

I don't think so but will double check today.

Headers not hot on 2 and 8

Low miles crate motor. I was told about 25000 miles. All I did was replace all gaskets.

Headers not hot on 2 and 8

What could be a cause of numbers 2 and 8 header pipes not getting hot. All other cylinders are getting over 300 degrees. 2 and 8 are only making it to around 114 degrees. Compression in all cylinders is 135-145 psi. When I put the timing light clip on the spark plug wires it flashes so I assume...

    Timing issues

advance weights were stuck, I had to turn the rotor with a good amount of force to get the weights to move. Now they move but do not return on there own. This distributor has good reviews but it it says it will not fit my 79 c10 with a 350....why wouldn't it? Amazon.com: Performance Hei...

    Timing issues

I have a gm crate motor in my 79 c10. When I set the timing and it runs nice and smooth it cranks over really slow and don't start, I figure too advanced (if I remember, at this setting it is at about 2 dbtdc). So I set it at 12 dbtdc and it turns over and starts easy but runs rough like the...

no power to anything in cab

I only have one question...does the bracket at the middle of the harness normally mount to the upper passenger trans to engine bolt?

Got the new harness and installed it. Now everything seems to be operating like it should. I should have just replaced it a lot of headaches ago. Old versus new...

no power to anything in cab

I'm done, time for a new harness! Question...I have a nice interior harness out of a 78 and it has glass fuses. Any reason I shouldn't "go back" to glass fuses and order a 78 engine wiring harness?

no power to anything in cab

Am I correct in thinking the wires at the junction block should always be hot? I'm doing more wire tracing

no power to anything in cab

interesting. Another interesting thing is the wire that goes to the "s" terminal on the solenoid is also the power wire for my wipers! Lol.

no power to anything in cab

Thanks for all the thoughts and info. I wouldn't have guessed the fusible links that go to the starter solenoid would power the fuse block. Apparently the 2 fusible links that go to the solenoid are supposed to be twisted together and taped together because who needs any lights? I jumped the...

I've been looking at the factory service manual and it's not the kind of diagrams i'm used to. What are the black circles next to 32BLK?
