Equal - Tire Balancing Beads, No weights to Lose

I might need to try this. I just got one of my spare wheels balanced and the weights they put on are hitting my tie rod end. Infuriating as my other wheels don't do that, and it ended up being a waste of $20 to get that one wheel balanced.

    Normal operation of 4wd

I did try it again after work one day. To get from 2H to 4H, I couldn't go straight back, I did have to slightly push it to the right. Hopefully this thing actually works, but I'm not going to need it anytime soon. Thanks for the help guys!

Auto or manual locking hub ?

Oh it would all need maintenance, just not right this immediate moment. I spent almost another week without the truck when I was re doing the auto hubs. Just the time savings alone would have been worth dropping $200 and slapping in some new hubs. Would have been worth it to buy two manual...

It's basically a suburban with some conversion van interior stuff done to it, like high top roof, leather seats, engraved wood trim, lights, etc. Check out this site. I came across it and there are so many different kinds of conversions done. Pretty good resource...

    Normal operation of 4wd

I appreciate the responses guys. That's exactly what it looks like. Maybe this is the key right here. I don't recall if I attempted it with the trans in park or neutral. Not entirely sure if it would matter. I will give this method a try and see how it goes.

    Normal operation of 4wd

The million dollar question: What is the normal operation of the 4 x 4 lever? I feel like that lever is seized and I'm scared that I'll break it. Or am I just not hitting it hard enough with my purse? Alright, I'm getting my flame suit on since I know y'all are gonna call me a wimp. 1990...

Auto or manual locking hub ?

Man I wish I found this thread sooner. I recently did a brake job and I initially would have thought that I bit off more than I can chew. I kind of wish I had googled manual hubs and their cost before assuming it was like $600 for manual lockers. In my 90 V1500 Suburban, I ended up taking...

    Age of our members

30 and feeling like im 90 I was looking for some small truck, like an early 90's tacoma or something. People wanted way too much for them. I remembered the big old trucks from when I was growing up. Started looking into the c10's and what not. Realized that they made suburbans too. So I...

4X4 V1500 SUBURBAN JACKING AND JACKSTAND PLACEMENT

It's what I assumed based on the fact that the tow ratings are higher than vehicle weight. If it's fine enough to tow 7000lb with, it should be fine to support the ~3000lb when jacking up. Southeast PA, near Philadelphia.

The Quest for the Last Radiator

Where did you find that chart? Side note: Most of the time, those parts sales people are going to try to upsell you. I'm in manufacturing and occasionally (quite often) I will just message the people in the Live Chat option box. Within minutes they send me stuff for like 10x the cost of...

    Hi there.....Got a Geneva Suburban

Huh, I didn't see that when I first opened the thread, but it totally sounds like something I would write. LOL I do get yelled at for taking long in the bathroom but that's where my best ideas and game high scores come from.

4X4 V1500 SUBURBAN JACKING AND JACKSTAND PLACEMENT

Hi there folks, I'm in need of some guidance. The brakes on my Suburban are squealin pretty bad. I will be doing the brakes soon and need to know where the recommended lifting points are. I have a 3 ton floor jack. My instinct is to go for the differential pumpkin but I've seen some people...

    Hi there.....Got a Geneva Suburban

Hmmmm, never updated this. So the truck basically went through a tuneup and new fuel system. I rebuilt both fuel injectors, bought a brand new fuel tank, fuel pump, hoses etc and it fired right up. I believe it was just a matter of bad gas, but I went ahead and replaced everything because God...

    Conversion van Bed/Bench seat install

Hi there! I have been looking for some insight on whether or not this will work but here's the idea. My girlfriend and I would like to use my Suburban to go camping. The idea was to either just remove the third row bench seat that is already there (it only folds/tilts forward) and just sleep...

1990 V1500 Suburban No Power No start

Sounds frustrating as hell, did she have power to her lights? I did not have power to lights and that has power at all times with or without key in ignition. I haven't touched anything on the column and mines an auto so I'm doubtful of it having a neutral safety switch. I'm chalking it up...

1990 V1500 Suburban No Power No start

Interesting that I am unable to edit the original post now. Update #3 Took the battery to get tested and battery checks out. I didn't mess with the starter yet because the battery was much faster, and I live close to Autozone and Advance, something came up with the house, my moms car, and we...

1990 V1500 Suburban No Power No start

So the way I see the wiring is two wires from positive terminal from the battery. One wire goes to the alternator. The other goes to the starter terminal. I verified 12.5 volts at both connections with the Engine off. At the starter, there is another red terminal that I assume goes to some...
