What have you done to your square lately??

Though I still believe that the motor is the probable root cause, it's always wise to verify that electrical system integrity is correct so one doesn't ruin a new component that good $$$ is spent on. To check for short to ground, connect 1 lead of your dvom to ground ( battery negative works...

What have you done to your square lately??

Okay, a loose connection can cause high resistance, thus overheating that connector. I would splice in a new connector and test the circuit for short to ground PRIOR to operating the motor. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Sounds like a short in the motor. Perhaps the reason it was left unplugged? Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Not sure of your setup, but I don't believe that EGR and TCC are related or effect each other Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

What have you done to your square lately??

Might want to check the flex brake hose to the right rear, they can collapse internally, especially if it's a 30 plus year old part. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

What have you done to your square lately??

Parked next to her today at work. (waiting for paint job) I am trying to source some GM metal prior to paint. Our body shop is busy so no rush. Anyone know good place for body parts near Atlanta? Heard about a yard in Alabama, anyone confirm? Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

87 stock power steering pump on a 2018 LS swap

I believe the Gen V LT series utilize electronic power steering as well as an engine driven vacuum pump for brake assist. Probably need to look into accessory brackets and pulleys for the swap into a square body. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Best way to ID transmission

If the vacuum pipe is routed to the side of the case near the fluid filler tube, it's a TH400, if the pipe is at the passenger side rear corner of the transmission case it's a TH350 Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Help on a Swap on 87 Square Body

GM does in fact use electronic power steering in some full size trucks, actually going back to 2015. Your easiest solution would be to use a manual steering gear box for the 87. By the way, brake vacuum assist is provided by an engine driven pump. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    90 Suburban ECM Fuse Popping

Read post#5, GM refers to this as a "wiggle" test, manipulate the harness while monitoring DVOM . Time consuming but cheaper than part replacement. It's possible but unlikely the ECM due to the fault occurs when hitting bumps. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
