    Draining a steering gear box

I've never seen a drain plug on a GM steering gear. Drain pan beneath, disconnect hoses, cycle steering full travel each direction several times. Not sure of your goal, but you could flush it by unhook 1 line and introduce new fluid in the other port and cycle steering as well.

    2000 camaro ss

That car has a blower motor resistor. I would check that first. Disconnect the resistor, and check A, B, and D with a test lamp hooked to ground. If it lights up, bad resistor. Good luck

Beside the snap ring pliers and all the basic stuff you probably already have DO NOT forget the thin wall 3/8 twelve point socket to get the center support bolt out on the TH400!!

    hard crank (broken starter?) issues

Erick, hope that is all correct with your truck, but I doubt timing caused broken starter housing. Need to correct root cause of failure. Agree with starter brace concern. Good luck

    '97 350 Lt1 putting in an '87 gmc

You will need a longer throttle cable as well as trans detent cable. You will also want a fuel filter that will support the higher pressure, no biggie. Headers may be iffy as the LT1 has D shaped exhaust ports, might have to change exhaust flange not positive though. Good luck

What have you done to your square lately??

Removed the 3 engines, 2 engine stands, and 4 tires from the truck bed and put into the garage. Took Ole Bessie out on a beer run! Holy glazed brakes, she hasn't been driven other than loading onto the trailer when we moved. Damn near wrecked. Washed the windshield at the gas station so I can...

Pull that piston and measure depth of damage. Perhaps a re-bore or sleeve will be required

Keep Frying HEI Coils PLEASE HELP!

Perhaps using an analog meter, but a typical dvom when measure resistance will indicate : Ol=open circuit, .2,1,etc=continuity in ohms, or 0=short circuit. At which point you can determine if short to power or ground or internal fault Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Keep Frying HEI Coils PLEASE HELP!

Slow down, do you realize Zero ohm indicate short? If you are measuring continuity there will be some measure of resistance. I don't like throwing parts at a concern, but make sure you understand what you are reading during diagnosis. Good luck
