Do some detective work. A quick N dirty way to find your leak is to blow shop air into each cylinder with the piston on that cylinder at TDC and then BDC. An "Air hold adapter" is around $10. I found some more info on one of the Corvette boards about the felt washer and the plastic seal on top of the grease well under the pickup coil assembly. That's why I stick to GM distributor cores with new AC Delco & Delphi electronics. I still have a box of new 1980's Blue Streak caps and rotors I lucked into for the van. Not sure how you so completely screw up a simple casting and machining operation but the Chinese are masters at that crap...- hatzie

Real hard to screw up steel shims and plastic bushings... You can mic em and find out right away. If you can get a GM advance can then, by all means, get that. I didn't say that Mallory, Accel, Crane, etc are aftermarket and probably Chinese parts so beware... BEWARE!!!- hatzie

Some older GM trucks and cars used TXV. IIRC my buddy had one on his 1972 Chevelle. They are tuned for R12 and I've never looked into what needs to be done, if anything, to make it run with R134a. I have run a Variable orifice tube and never had issues with it sticking... I'm a bit OCD about... -

It's pretty much the same as the old 2 step Prestone Heavy Duty Cooling system acid cleaner and neutralizer. They might've had a more aggressive neutralizing agent than baking soda for step 2 but I doubt it. I never had an issue with leftover acid from step one.- hatzie
