    Headlight buzzer

1976 to 1986 and maybe later only had a headlamp buzzer if you had Option T63 { Buzzer Headlamp Warning }. The 1984 wiring diagrams mention Option T63 next to the seatbelt buzzer... Probably because they used this buzzer for more than the belt warning. I don't have a diagram for this option...

    Let's see those SPID labels!

All of the GM RPO Codes and applicable years from AAA-ZZZ and most of the meanings are in the parts books. It seems that this is all of them not just the light truck codes... 1973-1978 PDF Pages 52-63 of the 1973-1978 GM Parts Catalog seems to have all of the GM RPO codes in use in that...

    Need Help Wiring Chevy Distributor

Those are the correct connections to kill the ESC. Will it run like that. It should. You can modify the mechanical advance with weights and springs to make up for the lack of vacuum advance. If you have module issues I'd recommend getting a new AC Delco Professional 4 terminal HEI module and...

    86 on 91 frame

The T400 frame is setup for a fair sized fuel tank inside the frame rails. This makes the GMT400 frame rails wider apart and much closer to the inner cab rockers VS the squares that have enough room for a long narrow fuel tank between the frame and the inner rockers. You might be able to do it...

    Evaporator housing "gunk" + leak

The problem with silicone is it actually cures. Silicone is great for the housing halves. The Silicone is too runny to fill big gaps like the holes around the evaporator tubes. It'll puddle inside and glue the evaporator into the housing. I would use the 3M strip calk around the big gaps...

    Wiper motor wiring

GM uses a switched ground system on all of their wiper motors on this series of trucks. There are no 12v power leads on the wiper switch contacts. The wiper switch routes grounds to the wiper motor not power. The wiper motor has constant ignition power from the WIPER fuse on two circuit 93...

    installing intermittent wipers into a 77 k2500

Likely it was a rush job and the 78 system was better thought out. That didn't last either. 84 brought a new system and the 84 controller was replaced immediately by the 85+... You can use the 85 controller in the 84 trucks so they didn't orphan the wiring that time. The 77 controller was...

    Diesel electrical system and batteries

800 cca is plenty as long as the battery cables are in good shape. I run two each of the Autozone Duralast Gold 78-DLG in both of my civvy diesel trucks. 800 CCA 1000 CA The pair in the 2000 GMC C2500 6.5L are 10 years old... I'll probably be replacing them this winter. The 1976 K20 6.5L...

    Wiring Plug Identification

Cover the end of the wire. If it makes contact with a ground when the mode lever is set to the AC positions you'll blow the heater fuse and the blower will stop working.

    installing intermittent wipers into a 77 k2500

Mike Rowand did a pretty decent writeup on converting the older GM wiper motors to Pulse. http://www.rowand.net/Shop/Tech/DelayWipers.htm If your 1977 and prior is stock it will not have the same motor as the 78-84 trucks. I updated my 76 to the 78 up motor and a delay module and switch from...

    Hello from that guy

Just posting an intro. I stumbled on this site when I was digging up info for a writeup on the 73-91 NL2 dual fuel tank systems. I've posted service info on several other boards and added some to the Library here.

    1987 Assembly Manual

There's a 1982 assembly manual that's usually priced pretty dear for what you get. It is a bootleg... There wasn't really an assembly manual in a great big book for these trucks. My understanding is that each station had printouts that might or might not get lost before production ended. GM...
