    4.350 x 3.764, 9.7 compression, 1971 820 GM oval port heads, Comp cams roller tip rockers, .080 wall chromoly pushrods, factory 390 HP cast iron intake with a Q-Jet. The centerpiece of my build a 350 HP 396 factory hydraulic cam 214/218/460/480/112 with 1970s TRW hyd lifters. Some pictures.

    Thanks, gears, and rims were changed, never did get the aluminum drive shaft built yet. Converter flashes 4200 RPM, but I need around 5600 RPM. It drives just fine in town on the street and we drive it very often.

    In my opinion the truck should be raced in the 5600-7200 RPM range. I never see below 4200 RPM on the track now, thats why it isn't faster than it is.

    Converter is aftermarket, I will change the converter after I make a engine change. The 327 build was a project for my son to learn how build a engine most people wouldn't waste their time with. We did race Sat. If you have a TQ peak @ 5200 RPM, where do you want the converter to flash?

    I think its important to mention I never seen high gear with the 3.07 gear, I ran through in second gear. When I ran 13s with the 3.07 gear I was fully hooked up (no spin) with the open rear end with a 30X9 radial slick with 30 PSI. 2.17 60 foot. The 327 really didn't like the 3.07 gear, really...
