    I have gone thru about 4 A6 compressors and now have one that has worked well for about 2 years. If the current one goes out, I am thinking about converting to Sanden. I found this one that should connect to current hoses. Don't know anything about them...

    I used this one. Some have criticized that they are for Ferd, but I use whatever works if it is better than the original. There are probably others that are for GM, but this is the first one I found that works for me...

    When I got my truck, the fluid was bad like that and brake light on but only the rear reservoir. Removed lines from MC, disconnected rear lines from wheel cylinders blew out the line with air hose. New MC, wheel cylinders, bled and all worked well and has in the last 6 years.

    You can always do what Discount Tire does. Get a brass wire brush for drill and use around lug bolts on hub and also on wheel in areas that contact. Might help.

    That sure would be a long drive in a square. I wouldn't drive it because of the distance. Maybe there will be a meeting closer to you sometime that would be easier.

    I recommend trying to find AC Delco ignition module. I had 2 china modules that crapped out fairly quickly. Got AC Delco and has worked great since.

    Check the fluid color in the MC. When I bought my truck, light was on and braking was horrible. Found the rear reservoir was a green color (contaminated). Replaced MC, rear cylinders, flushed lines no problems after that. Mine is a 74, but could be similar to yours.

    You should be able to remove the power connector from it.

    There is the probability a new one can be bad. After market parts are sometimes that way. As you mentioned, removing and testing could tell the story. Good luck.

    I had a whining sound when in D or R, not in N or P. Was told it was transmission pump. After rebuild, haven't heard it since. I have a wall next to the truck where I park and sound reflected more off the wall.
