I have the all aluminum Griffin unit. Not too impressed. The 3" core makes it difficult when the biggest OEM unit was 2.25" deep.

I wanted to go the 454 HD cooling route but the Spectra premium CU-730 seemed to be out of stock everywhere in the country. I found an equivalent at Napa and I'm pretty happy with the fit. It has a transmission cooler as well.

The 4.3L brackets (13) fit pretty close. The 5.7L brackets (14) would need a 90* bend put in them to even be in the right place. How does the radiator fit from the factory? Should it be shorter and tuck under the core support? Should it be taller and closer to flush with the top of the core support?

I'm looking for OEM fit without any fabrication work. I think I need a thinner core radiator to fit with the factory mounts. Just don't know what's out there with provisions for steam hoses for the LS. I've seen talk of using the 454 radiator and upper mounts but I can't find any listings for...

What are you guys running for radiators on your LS swaps? My truck is a k30 that came with a Griffin radiator (8-00013-LS). I have tried different radiator mounts from the early and late model square bodies from LMC. I've also bought the what I assume are universal rated brackets from Griffin...

Sorry, didn't mean to confuse things. The tires are coming from my land cruiser. I am not trying to re-use the LC wheels. I will be buying new ones for the square body.

My truck is a CUCV with K10 axles. The tires I have came off my land cruiser I just sold They are BFG T/A KO2s that require a 8" wheel at a minimum. I want 16" wheels, just trying to make sure I don't rub with the wrong backspacing or that is doesn't fit on because of hub diameter. If I...

Any good suggestions for steel wheel suppliers? I have a set of 285/75r16 I would like to run on my 86. The axles are out of a 73 K10 though so I need a 16", 6x5.5" wheel. The only thing I really see is a pro comp 16x8.

Ok cool. The knob definitely doesn't go back to it's home position.

Glove Box Latch 73-87 (91) Chevy GMC Trucks

This is what my latch does. Maybe it's normal behavior. To me, when I shut the latch it should lock in place and rotate the knob to the locked position if necessary.

Glove Box Latch 73-87 (91) Chevy GMC Trucks

It's not the catch. Do any of the parts suppliers provide better quality parts than the others? There is a drastic difference in prices. I would pay more for nicer stuff but don't know if there's a rhyme and reason to the prices.

Glove Box Latch 73-87 (91) Chevy GMC Trucks

American Classic Parts is way cheaper than Classic Industries. How do I determine if the problem is the lock cylinder or the case and hook assembly? My lock cylinder knob won't stay in place, either locked or open. And to get the glovebox to stay closed I have to twist the knob to the locked...

Unfortunately, crossovers have won the popularity contest. GM, chrysler, and Ford have killed off all their sedans. If you squint really hard the crossover isn't essentially a bloated station wagon with slightly better ground clearance.

I don't know if I fully agree. He can be both a victim and part of the problem. By buying one he is telling GM this is what the people want, make more cars like this. And then we get a slightly larger one and they desecrate the blazer nameplate.

    CUCV vs civilian model differences?

The NP205 came on the trucks that needed the PTO. I would have to review the documents I have from the steel soldiers forum to figure out exactly which variants. The cucv also had a blackout light. Not sure if that's what you're confusing with "backlight". It would kill all lights internal and...

    DBW to DBC

That's not true. They specifically make the signal generator to let your PCM know when the vehicle is actually idling vs when it's moving. The LT1swap guy that removed VATS also set it to get the 8000 pulse signal. I guess I need to call and talk to him. I was hoping some folks here already had...

Oh, I know it doesn't have the right transmission. It was from a 2005 Suburban with a 4L60E. The transmission I have is an SM465. I had the PCM programmed to look for an 8K signal. I have a Dakota Digital 8K signal generator. It is still not working well.

Gauge Cluster Teardown and Rebuild - Beware, Pic Heavy!

Just to clarify there are a total of 11 bulbs and they are 168, not 194? I got my gauge cluster working this weekend but the backlighting is terrible. I don't want to spend a ton of money on bulbs, especially if it may be the circuit board. Anyone know a site you can buy 168s in bulk?

    Truck lite 27270c LED upgrade.

My buddy works for trucklite. I was very interesting in a set of these but balked at the ~$150 price tag for two headlights. Guess i need to reconsider.

    Corner/Marker Light Behavior

I understand they should flash together. What I don't know for sure is whether one or both are supposed to be on with the headlights. And if they are on with the headlights should they get brighter (dual filament) and then dimmer with the turn signal, or if they should have one level of...

    DBW to DBC

Yeah, I understand. If I make the swap I would probably move to a Holley Terminator X standalone harness and PCM. The harness I modified is ugly as sin, but I wanted to use it at first to verify the engine runs. Now that I'm confident I put it together more or less correctly, I am ready to start...
