    Inadequate Heat

Bought the truck without an engine.

It's not brass. It's aluminum and looks really good. Thermostat is less than a year old and I know it's opening, but the heater core output on the LS is before the thermostat. Dexcool.

    Inadequate Heat

Yeah. 195*F thermostat. I ever set the electric fans to not come on until 210*F to see if that helped. Not much.

    Inadequate Heat

The LS has dedicated outputs for heater core.

    Inadequate Heat

I guess a follow-up question I have is which is the inlet and which is the outlet? The way my brain works I would think you would feel from the top and let gravity return it through the bottom. But I ended up just matching the big tube on the heater core to the big tube on the water pump and...

    Inadequate Heat

I'm not sure what you mean by backflushed. I filled the heater core from the top fitting with the lower hose connected. Fluid float easily through both fittings and I can blow through it without any obstruction. My hoses run parallel to the inner fender back up to the heater core. But I have a...

    Inadequate Heat

The heat in my K30 has been inadequate at best since I got the truck. I tore into the HVAC box today hoping to find a blend door malfunctioning, a rodent nest, or dirty heater core but everything looks fine. Is there a design flaw with these systems or what should be my next step?

Ok. So I think the path of least resistance is this guy. Item 24 (PN 15548905).

I assume the RWD/4x4 crossmembers are different. Is that correct?

    Emergency brake

I will see if I can put my hands on a transmission jack and try to get it inside the frame. If not I will have to see what I can find. There is only one junkyard around here and you almost never see square bodies in there. I figured the aftermarket would be the best bet. You mentioned the stock...

    Emergency brake

These are the best pictures I could find of mind when the lift blocks were still in the rear.

    Emergency brake

The truck had a blown small block 350 when I got it. I'm sure they didn't change the engine pads. They just drilled the extra holes.

    Emergency brake

I'm not sure I follow what you're talking about with a tall style adapter. I will try to put my hands on one of the other cross members though.

    Emergency brake

Are you referring to these? The old motor mounts are gone. I used the dirty dingo ones for the LS swap.

    Emergency brake

Is there a good aftermarket replacement I should be looking at instead of trying to find a junkyard crossmember? Something like off-road design or a similar company?

    Emergency brake

The drivetrain will slope downwards a lot worse if I lift the the crossmember inside the frame. Is there not a mount for the NP208? Mine sags immediately after the transmission.

Oddly enough I am able to read the date after soaking/scrubbing the back of the tag. 1986.

Part Numbers for a complete Steering Shaft Rebuild

I could not get it to collapse with the bolt out and after drenching it overnight in pbblaster. I just tossed it and replaced with an intermediate shaft from the junkyard with the plastic intact.

    RETRO-Mod: Jeep intermediate steering shaft

I wish I would have come across this thread before I bought a used intermediate shaft and a new rag joint. I guess I can sell those to someone who wants to keep things as stock as possible. When you guys are saying this tightens up the steering are you just talking about removing the dead space...

    80's Wiper technology sux

Sadly I'm a better mechanical engineer than an electrician. As far as I can the pink wire carries power and it should get fed to go any of the three depending on the position of the switch.

    80's Wiper technology sux

Understood. I will hold off on buying a new one until I know there isn't a further issue with the wiring. I am very tempted to just buy a flaming river steering column and get rid of all the Easter eggs the precious owner left me in this column. Looks like the wai is sold at my local carquest

    80's Wiper technology sux

The painless is just a factory replacement. It should have the same power/ground setup as it came from the factory.

    80's Wiper technology sux

I think I'm following. I'm not concerned with keeping factory parts at this point. I would rather just buy a reman motor assembly than polish this turd.

    5.3 LS TKO 600 Swap 87 C10

I bought mine in May of last year. It may be a matter of supply chain shortages at this point.
