    Inadequate Heat

Both. I can actually keep the truck cool with just the heater running at full blast. Air flow is not a problem. It just feels like the air coming out of the duct is no warmer than 50 or 60° f.

GM pn 5694191 is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.

    Inadequate Heat

I posted some videos of the blend doors earlier in the thread. They actuate as they are supposed to but it's missing all the foam and soft parts though.

    Inadequate Heat

Well, I got around to changing the heater core today. Decent heat when the truck is idling for a long time. It will stay at 206*F for a long time before it gets any hotter so that must be where the thermostat opens. But as soon as I start moving it starts cooling down. I have to idle for like 15...

How to fix loose gm steering column

I need to do this myself, but just to get to the lock cylinder and wiper switch. Any tips on how not to have parts fly off when you get down to the wiper switch? I know the OP mentioned it was a mystery like women. I don't want to end up with parts in the floor pan with no idea how to get them...

    lock plate retaining ring

Any suggestions on the part number for this retaining clip? I tried my local napa and they looked at me like I was stupid. I don't see it listed in the LMC parts diagrams either.

    Halfshaft Noise?

The hubs are not locked. I went to the Kroger parking lot and tried locking and unlocking to see if it made a difference. The driver's side gets much noiser if I lock it but I noticed no difference on the passenger side. My wheels are new and painted black. I don't see any marks to suggest...

    Halfshaft Noise?

I'm getting a strange noise in the front passenger side when reversing with the wheel turn to the right at full lock. It's only when the truck is reversing and not when moving forward. At first I thought it was the tire rubbing something but I have plenty of clearance. Would the u-joint and the...

    Body Panel Alignment Tips

Yes. As far as I can tell. Afterwards it dropped into place easily and didn't keep the door open. I was using an 18-in snap-on breaker bar. I got a little aggressive at that point because of frustration.

    Body Panel Alignment Tips

I tried the prybar route the first go around and ended up yielding the spring.

    Body Panel Alignment Tips

I'm going through this right now and it's a bit of a nightmare. Getting the door to compress the weatherstripping is my issue for the moment. First question is does the fender or door have to be removed to install a new hinge spring? Trying to install a new one of those is what started my ordeal.

    RETRO-Mod: Jeep intermediate steering shaft

Thanks. You were spot on. Calling the U-bolts and front eye bolt hand-tight would be generous. I'm actually embarrassed by how loose they were. I got everything torqued down and took it for a test drive. Seems good thus far.

    RETRO-Mod: Jeep intermediate steering shaft

And I guess a better question is how do I verify it's centered before I torque it down? If I jack the truck up by the frame and loosen the u-bolts will it self-center? I don't know what points I should be checking to other than making sure the u-bolts are vertical.

    RETRO-Mod: Jeep intermediate steering shaft

This is an interesting thought. I did replace the leaf springs a few months ago. Any idea what the torque spec on the u-bolts should be? My axle is a Dana 44 out of a 1974ish model (ring gear is stamped 1973).

    80's Wiper technology sux

To follow up I swapped the motor, ran a tap through the threads to clean them up, and ran a dedicated ground to the firewall. I still think the switch is a problem as I only have one speed. But the one speed is much faster and the park switch finally works.

Got the crossmember raised up. It was a pain but looks much better.

    Inadequate Heat

I actually set the first fan to not kick on until 220*F. But I am thinking two 1300 CFM fans are overkill. One fan drops the temp by 25*F in less than a minute.

    Inadequate Heat

As I mentioned and shared videos the blend doors work fine and are cable actuated.

    Inadequate Heat

The Holley EFI triggers were set that low to start with. But it's been set at 215 for the last month when I noticed I was having to wear a jacket when I drive the truck to work. I have the 454 HD radiator, Tejas Steelworks fan shroud, and two 13" Spal fans. I can set the triggers where ever I...

    Inadequate Heat

Normally I have the triggers set on at 195, off at 180. I have them set to 210 and 215 right now trying to see if it's warmer. It's almost 60*F here, but 40s in the morning.

The water circulates with the thermostat closed or open. I know it's getting up to temp.
