    Clutch switch pigtail

Thanks for the photos. I was trying to put the switch on the wrong side of the pedal and with the self adjusting part of the switch towards the firewall.

    Ignition Switch Adjustment

Both of my columns have the ignition switch and high beam switch mounted with the same bolts.

    Ignition Switch Adjustment

I'm pretty confident these switch is pushed as far towards the firewall as possible. Based on where the fasteners are in the slots. I assumed the rod was pulled towards the steering wheel. I will tear it down and do it again. Do all the columns use the same fasteners to hold the ignition switch...

    Ignition Switch Adjustment

I get accessory and on for now. If I hold it as far as possible it may or may not start. I have a spare tilt column in garage I was looking at. But my truck is non tilt.

    Clutch switch pigtail

I think that lines up with what I was trying to do. I was putting the 90° part through a hole in the clutch pedal arm from the brake pedal side of the pedal arm. I could not find a matching hole that lined up on the pedal assembly though. And no bolt to go with it to go with it. I have to tear...

    Clutch switch pigtail

I would also love to find a part number for the connector. I am going through this as well but cannot figure out how the switch is supposed to mount so I've bypassed the switch for now.

    Ignition Switch Adjustment

Does the linkage push towards the firewall or pull towards the steering wheel when you turn the key to start the truck? I recently replaced the ignition switch and lock cylinder while I was in the column swapping turn signal and wiper switches. I would say about 50% of the time it will not...

    Painlesswiring, American Autowire, or ??????

I was very happy with the painless set I installed. I wish it came with connectors instead of having to splice in some like the headlights, taillights, etc.

    Brake Kits?

I actually went through the rear drums already. The front brakes are my main concern right now. Thanks for the link.

    Brake Kits?

I am getting ready to completely go through the braking system and have a few questions. First question I think I know the answer to. Are the brakes specific to the year of the axle, or the year of the truck? My front axel is a Dana 44 from a 1974ish K10 truck. The body of the truck is an 86...

    Windshield wiper stalk problem

For what it's worth low speed and park were resolved with a new wiper motor and cleaning up the threads where the motor grounds. I replaced the wiper switch inside the column yesterday and now have low AND high speeds.

    86 M1008 LM7 Swap

Yeah. I wouldn't strip the truck or gut the interior. Just spray the exterior surfaces that will see the elements. I'm the same way. I don't want the truck to be so pretty people look harder at it and maybe steal it.

    86 M1008 LM7 Swap

I definitely don't think it deserves a nice paint job. But it is no longer waterproof. It will actually leave streaks on the windshield when it rains and I can remove paint with a wet rag. I think I will buy a harbor freight stud welder and a slide hammer to take some of the big dents out. It...

    86 M1008 LM7 Swap

And that brings us pretty close to current day. I trust it enough to drive it around town, on the highway for two hours, and back and forth to work. It needs every new piece of weather-stripping available, a lot of body work, a paint job, and a dash cover. For anyone else doing this I would...

    86 M1008 LM7 Swap

Next up was installing a trailer hitch so I can actually use it as a truck. The M1008 tow bar made it a bit of a pain but it came out nicely. However, I would not suggest the hitch I bought because it took lots of drilling and knocking out rivets.

    86 M1008 LM7 Swap

I took the downtime with the seats being out to build a cold air intake and route the wiring harness and PCM into the cab. I want to buy a CAI that works well with the truck but everything seems to be on backorder so I made it from 3" PVC. I also swapped to to the newer style valve covers that...

    86 M1008 LM7 Swap

I also decided to address the disgusting upholstery. The foam and frame were actually not horrible. I did some POR-15 on the frame, bought a cover kit from LMC, and had a local shop install it.

I also took another shot at the exhaust to try to get some less carbon monoxide in the cab.

    86 M1008 LM7 Swap

I ended up swapping pads and brake hardware in the rear.

    86 M1008 LM7 Swap

I bought a new wiring harness to power headlights directly from the battery. I also fought with the wiper motor and ended up replacing with a WAI unit.

    86 M1008 LM7 Swap

Next up was addressing the light output from the stock sealed beams because it was terrible. I have a friend that works at TruckLite that was able to get me some LEDs at cost. I then had to get some new turn signals and freshen up the grille so the front end didn't look stupid.
