    Manual Hub Identification

I'm doing my best not to do this a second time. Trying to find the instructions on how to preload the bearing as we speak. Seems like torquing to 50 lbft and backing off the nut up to 90 degrees seems very imprecise. My land cruiser has a spec to check bearing drag where you put a fish scale on...

    Manual Hub Identification

From what I can tell Spicer owns Warn. I pulled up a separate part (for Dana 60) on the Dana website. It shown Warn hubs with a Spicer watermark on the photo...

    Dana 44 1/2-20 Studs

Probably. But my local part store people aren't very bright. I spend some time digging in their boxes of studs and found these that seem to fit the bill. https://www.dormanproducts.com/p-11921-610-073.aspx

Not sure. According to the Dana/Spicer literature I should have the PHL-52.

    Dana 44 8 lug conversion

I use a similar chart that is just a little different. I struggle to tell the difference between the cover on the 44 vs the 60 other than the more pronounced bulge for the ring gear.

    Manual Hub Identification

I researched as much as I could but dead ended with the Spicer literature. I need to reexamine my parts to see if I have the face or sliding tooth design. I know at a minimum I need one #6 and one #1. Right now I am just trying to put these hubs back together after replacing a few bad wheel...

    Manual Hub Identification

I think I found a part that may work. Can anyone confirm? https://www.warn.com/locking-hub-service-kit-gm-ford-dodge-11967

    Manual Hub Identification

My truck is an 86 and should have a Dana 60. Not the 44. In 86 a half ton would have had a 10-bolt. I'm kinda flying blind other than looking for a 78ish K10.

Dana 44, 60 and other Spicer Axles Maintainence and Repair Manuals

Did anyone manage to snag the Dana 44 front axle manual before they removed the older stuff? The only 44 info I see is their newer ones and for Jeeps. Disregard. I found them.

Does anyone know the part number for a rebuild kit on the locking hubs? I'm looking for the snap rings, gaskets, etc.

    Dana 44 1/2-20 Studs

Does anyone have a good part number for 1/2 studs for a Dana 44 front axle? I believe the truck should have 7/16 studs but all my wheels use 1/2. The dorman part number I have seen on other forums is 610-165 but it has been discontinued.

    Power Steering Return Fitting

Oh, I definitely poured about a quart of brake fluid all over everything. I did learn what a rag joint is so that's helpful.

I've never looked at another one very hard.

    Dana 44 8 lug conversion

Thanks. Can I search parts for a '77 K20 to buy the parts I need? Or is there a full kit that gives me the parts I need? I'm picking up a 14 bolt rear and want to match bolt patterns.

    Power Steering Return Fitting

No idea. Bought it without an engine and just finishing up the swap.

    Dana 44 8 lug conversion

Yes, those are my hubs. No idea what year the axle came from or what you meant by "later years". The rear axle is a 12-bolt so I assume both axles came from the 70s.

    Power Steering Return Fitting

The second picture is the remnants of the o-ring. I didn't think the metric fittings have a flare. I thought they were flat with the o-ring.

    Manual Hub Identification

Thanks. Not sure if they are supposed to be yellow or were red once upon a time.

    Dana 44 8 lug conversion

They would be way smaller if it's really a 1/2-ton axle. I am not convinced that is the case. This truck has been frankensteined together. Even the wheel studs are wrong (1/2-20 when I'd expect 7/16-20 or 9/16-18).
  20. LateOnTheBrakes

    Manual Hub Identification

Can anyone tell me what brand these are? They are on a Dana 44 front axle. I need to buy the service kit with the O-ring, fasteners, spring clips, etc. Also, my truck is a frankenstein. I realize that. But why would the truck have to select 4-Hi or 4-Lo from inside the truck and then me have to...

    5.3 LM7 going in my 87

Will you provide the part number you used? I am trying to install the power steering pump that came with my donor truck. I do not see how it's physically possible to fit it in between the frame rails. Did you have to install the hoses to the pump, install the pump onto the aluminum accessory...

    Power Steering Return Fitting

Anyone have a good part number or description for this part? It is the nipple that threads into the power steering gearbox for the return line to attach to. I'm pretty sure my box is metric (correct me if I'm wrong).

    Dana 44 8 lug conversion

Sorry to revive a dead thread but I have a few questions on this. I've seen mixed info one whether I can just replace the backing plate, brakes, rotor, and hub or if I have to go deeper into the spindle and bearings. From what I can tell there are two different sizes for the spindle depending on...

    NP 208 Shifter Missing Parts

I found my transfer case shifter is missing a part or two. What should be on the other side of the shifter shaft? Is there a bushing that fits between the case and the shaft, a fender washer, a regular/special nut?

    Fuel Filler Neck

Found better pictures of my filler hose installed and the junkyard gas filler I found. Note the size difference.
