I didn't know if the clutch switch may be stamped with a part number. If not, are you able to look up one based on your year/make/model? I am coming up empty with all my cross-referencing.

Hold back the tears...it's gonna make you cry.

Yeah, the "excess" process is quite interesting. I have a lot of insight into being a former property custodian for a federal agency. Basically, anything the agency no longer needs gets marked for excess. Normally, a contractor is in charge of dealing with the excess equipment. First it gets put...

What for $130? A rear axle or a front Dana 60?

Did you ever brave the murder hornets for a picture or part number? I think I'm going to hit the auto parts store tomorrow.

I do not know. It is barely overflush with the reluctor wheel. The videos I'm seeing it should be standing proud by quite a bit. I only go to work on the truck every other weekend or so. I would rather spend the 20 bucks to have the parts in hand and swap it out then to have to wait another 2...

It's hard to know. If they have a built in relay or coil it may need a specific voltage to closed the contacts. That's why I said start low. Use big wires like 10 AWG. When it makes noise don't go up to a higher voltage.

Start with 6, go up to 12, and then 24.

    Steering Wheel

No. That's all I took before I left the truck this weekend. I'm trying to wrap my head around the schematic on the LMC website though. I thought the spring and pin (2) were installed before the cancel cam/switch (3).

Nah. I want it to be as close to stock as possible. I don't like rigging shit together unless I have to.

    Neutral Saftey Switch

I guess I don't know a part number for a "simple plunger switch".

I don't know if this video is representative of the square body, but you are suggesting I swap the green piece, correct? Not the white cams?

I understand the concept of the switch. I just do not see any sign of one being installed or where it would install. Does it bolt through the hole in the bottom right of the pivot? I found my backup light connector by the way. I have two complete, shitty used harnesses. I was looking for it on...

Are you offering to sell me your steering wheel? How much? What is the diameter? The one in my truck is a puny 13.5".

How can you tell it's broken just by looking at it? I do not know what it should look like or how far is should protrude. Is this what you are talking about as far as the tool goes? https://www.amazon.com/Lisle-57340-Steering-Wheel-Plate/dp/B0009OR956

    Steering Wheel

I'm not familiar with the anatomy of a steering wheel or column. Is the cancel cam the green plastic piece? If not, is it part of the wheel, adapter, or column? Replaceable? It seems like something with that name would be to cancel the turn signal when the wheel is turned. I took the adapter...

I just replaced the oil seal due to it leaking. I don't want to ram in the old, damaged slinger if I can help it.

    Steering Wheel

How much further do I need to disassemble the column to verify the wire/contact for the horn is not damaged? Should there be a wire coming up through the green piece? I can't imagine the previous owner went through all that effort for an external switch if he could have bought a horn button.

    Steering Wheel

I wondered why the truck had such a tiny steering wheel and a horn button on the dash when I got it. I'm starting to wonder if the steering column is out of some other vehicle. I would like to replace the steering wheel with one that has a horn. Does the center piece with the three threaded...

I guess it would help if I uploaded the photos. I think the part is the "slinger" according to the diagram I found.

    Random Diff Questions

Man, the person that worked on this truck before me was truly an axle savant. I have two more questions to add to the list. Is this collar/washer just a part of the bad oil seal? Or is it a separate part I need to replace? What is the procedure to seat the pinion nut? I must have cleaned off...

    SM465 Backup Lights

Thanks. I guess I'm going to have to find/buy the backup light sub harness or at least the connector. I can't find a NSS connector on the trans. Is there a way to determine the year of the trans based on stamps on the casting?

    SM465 Backup Lights

Cool. I went back to my photos and see one connector on the top of the driver's side. Now I just have to figure out what connector and which color wires go to it.
