    Headliner what to do

If I could find one, I think it would be cool to use a thin Pendleton style/pattern to cover one. Mine came without a headliner from the factory but apparently the dude before me lost his sh!t at one point or another and put a couple knuckle dents in the otherwise perfect metal above my head.

What have you done to your square lately??

Put a new set of Cooper Cobras on the rear (bald) and had the wheels powder coated but lost the receipts…nope, just a quick spray of Argent Silver before throwing it back together.

    Turbine wheels in 5x5?

That’s awesome. Confirmed, will still keep an eye out. In my grand long term plans, I’d have a set of 20” Halibrands or Rally reproductions , a set of Turbines, and a set of stock rallies to switch out depending on my mood that week or month.

    Turbine wheels in 5x5?

I thought I’d ask real quick here if anyone has seen them in the wild for 5x5, even back in the day. I’ve seen lots in Dodge bolt pattern, 6x5.5, etc but none of the classic thin-finned turbine wheels in the regular 5x5. I’m to the point of thinking they don’t exist- I’d like to stop looking...

    Leaking transmission pan plug

Yeah, I plan on watching it closely given how this pan has treated me so far.

    Leaking transmission pan plug

It’s holding fine so far, took it for a drive yesterday, after putting a couple quarts in to see if it would leak overnight. Holding good, just made sure not to overtighten.

Making sure inverted flare cooler lines seal

Thanks for all the help and responses. Back together, trans refilled and no leaks. Fingers crossed!

Here is the fitting and the radiator threads.

    Leaking transmission pan plug

They sell it there, but I don’t think it’s branded by them. I think it’s some Spectre piece of junk.

Making sure inverted flare cooler lines seal

Hard to tell if they put some kind of different metal insert in there but you’re probably right. The fitting is brass.

Making sure inverted flare cooler lines seal

Paranoia mostly. I was just wondering what what would be preferred if one wanted a backup for sealing, since I’m sure that the aluminum threads are pretty soft and won’t take much torque. I actually placed a call to Cold Case this morning, they recommended nothing on it at all and are confident...

    Edelbrock accelerator pump

Shouldn’t be hard to press down at all. It is spring loaded, but if it feels like something is binding, maybe take it back apart and reassess.

Making sure inverted flare cooler lines seal

So, the truck is getting ready to go back together and back on the ground. I have a Cold Case aftermarket aluminum radiator, and concerned about over tightening the inverted flares into the bungs for the cooler lines- soft aluminum obviously. I know the flare does the job for the seal, but...

    Leaking transmission pan plug

FYI, what I ended up running across at NAPA was a drain pan bolt that matched the threads that was just a bolt with a large shoulder around it and had a formed rubber gasket molded onto it. We’ll see how that goes, and if it still leaks I will definitely try any of those suggestions. It’s funny...

What have you done to your square lately??

Yesterday I lifted the truck up and found out immediately that there’s no way in hell that a guy could fish pre-bent transmission lines through without days of extra work, so plan B. Going to stick with the PO trans lines that he had fabbed with barbed ends. Now I’ll run hose in sequence to the...

    Leaking transmission pan plug

Yeah, truth be told, it was one of those purchases you run across. And it was chrome! Lol… I’ve used Teflon tape before on prior vehicles. I had a CRD Jeep Liberty that had a problematic drain plug from PO over tightening the plug, Teflon did the trick. I did happen across a problem that...

What have you done to your square lately??

Today I had a buddy close by so we re-timed it to 35-36 degrees all in at 3k. Fun fact- when you accidentally let the plastic spark pickup fall against the header tube and it immediately melts, carb cleaner removes the melted plastic it because it’s immediately turned to blackened soot. Also...

    Leaking transmission pan plug

That’s a good idea. Or something like that- I’d have to take the drain plug out and see what bolt size it is. Thanks!

    Leaking transmission pan plug

Quick question- I put a trans pan with a drain plug on the TH350 when I did the shift kit. Sure enough, the plug leaks oil. Maybe the convenience of the plug is outweighed by the fact that it’s a piece of junk. The plug just has a plastic washer. Maybe a rubber washer? Thread sealer? Teflon...

Clear coating over patina: anybody done it?

I have the Shine Juice on my C10. It does a good job, pretty subtle but adds a little bit of gloss. Goes on really shiny, dries up nicely and isn’t sticky or tacky at all.
