It may be true that your heads aren’t the best, but if you’re not pulling it past 4000, your money is best spent elsewhere IMHO. The cam selection mentioned is something I would look at myself if I was in your shoes- mild, shouldn’t result in any low end power loss and would be a noticeable...- ChuckN

Nice work! Looking good. You should market that PS bracket, that probably better than 99% of what’s on the market. I hate fiberglass with a passion for that reason. Stumped on oil leak
If you end up doing the pan gasket, get one of these. They are the bees-knees. They’re reusable, very forgiving, and even come with thread in “snap-ups” that hold it in place for you while you thread in the pan bolts. I’d say you have the skill, VWs generally aren’t hard to work on. It’s just what your time is worth. If the car itself is rust free and in good shape, go for it. Or, you could keep your eyes open for something up here in the PNW or the desert SW for the same amount of money as the cost of...- ChuckN

Looks good! I really need to paint my grille, someone at one point got some black overspray on it. Anyone have any recommendations? I have Argent Silver for the wheels but that would be too bright for my tastes. -

Square rads usually come in 19” or 21”. Sounds like you’re definitely a 21”, but double check measurement to be sure . If the one NastyLSX doesn’t work out, I’ve been very happy with my Cold Case. Here is a search on their website for your year...- ChuckN

@CheemsK1500 I remember begging my dad to get a tube grille for the ‘74 back in the day. He wouldn’t do it, but just about every other square in the new had one. -

Yep! Same here. My pops always swore by them on the Corvette. I can still hear him telling me, “ you really want that sidewall, 70 series is where it’s at”. I think a set of 275/60 would’ve looked great on it. He’s probably rolling over in his grave right now with me saying that, haha. -

Those are a thing of beauty. They’re on my shortlist as well, but since many of you guys already got em, I might stick with the US mags Scottsdale. That gold color looks great on that color combo. Probably better than the gold with my blue. The gold is the only one I’d want- makes them pop so...- ChuckN
