What have you done to your square lately??

Thanks man! Yeah, 275/40. They don’t look too stretched. We’ll see what happens when I get them on the road, hitting bumps, off camber, etc, but for around town I think they’ll be fine. I might be inclined to put the 15s on for long road trips for comfort anyhow. Here’s a side profile for ya.

What have you done to your square lately??

You’ll definitely be seeing the rallies in the future, lol. Actually, since silver is one of their in-house catalog powder coating colors (and therefore cheaper) I’ll probably have them (the rallies) broken down and redone professionally before I have the Halibrands done :happy107:

What have you done to your square lately??

Yeah, I considered that- I went to the powder coat shop and it’s 150/wheel and another 80 per wheel additional if it’s a color outside of their catalog. I’m a little (way!) tapped out right now but good enough for now. Haven’t decided on a color yet but I’m jealous of @Grit dog @Soundmound color...

What have you done to your square lately??

Thanks man! I’m still adjusting to the look. I think they’ll grown on me- but I’m never giving up the rallies!

What have you done to your square lately??

Well, they fit. Pinky width of gap. No matter how much I shuck, shimmy, stomp or shake it, can’t get it to touch sidewall. Just a test fit in the rear before I mounted up the rest. Do they look ridiculous? Likely. Will I keep them? Why not. Can always be trade fodder down the road. Edit- wheel...

What have you done to your square lately??

Halibrands showed up today. Test fit is inconclusive, mostly depends on sidewall profile. The tires will be here soon. Also got the non- cruise control speedo cable in the mail today so hopefully I can get that half-installed module by PO eliminated.

At the very least they’re good people. Let me know how it goes.

What have you done to your square lately??

I think in general, OER is poorer quality than LMC, but I guess I was kinda asking if it looked kind of chintzy (the LMC stuff that was wrong), because OER won’t be any better. Trim stuff I’ve ordered and small parts have been pretty cheap in appearance. Anything that has any plastic parts I’d...

What have you done to your square lately??

I don’t know if LMC quality is good these days but if it’s average at best it’s probably better than OER. Which is a shame because the guys at Classic Industries/OER are typically more helpful than LMC.

I appreciate the time you spent to do that. Thanks man!

Free 73-80 driver side inner fender if you’re willing to come to Bellingham to get it…

Not a fancy AMD piece, just a no name brand inner fender. Ordered off of Fleabay as a pair and the accidentally sent me two lefts. They didn’t want it back.

    Poll: alternative 20” wheel options

I have no logic. I saw something I wanted to try. I’ll edit my post- what I mean is that it’s not a huge deal to me- I’ll try them out. I know no one else in my close locale to try them on anyway. Just a project like anything else.

    Poll: alternative 20” wheel options

For 450 bucks shipped to my house, I’ll give them a try. Worst case scenario I sell them back off and lose 100 bucks. I’m going to give them a go for little over the same cost of a single other wheel.

    Poll: alternative 20” wheel options

Good to know! The Scottsdales are the cheapest and easiest to find anyway. No other pictures, that’s just what he sent me. I do know to gain clearance he used 275/40 which is about a 29” tire, still bigger than my Cobras at 28”. Apparently no rubbing at all.

    Poll: alternative 20” wheel options

Well, as the Big Lebowski said new sh*t has come to light. A guy on the face space reached out and told me the 4” offset works with non narrowed rear ends. I ordered them up last night. He’s done two trucks with them. I got the gunmetal because it’s what was left at all.

    Poll: alternative 20” wheel options

Trying to think of something tasteful in 20” since I’m looking for a spare set of wheels to trade out the rallies here and there. Here are my initial ideas. Ridler 606- I like the sharp lines, look serious. Ridler 607- I have history with BBS wheels, and I kind of think these lend a...

What have you done to your square lately??

Nope, nada. Probably an unfinished retrofit job, likely explains why it’s only partially bolted to the inner fender.

    Edelbrock 1906

Keep in mind the Edelbrokens like 5-6 psi of fuel pressure, so you’ll need a regulator or the matching Edelbrock fuel pump to go with it (just thought I’d mention, you’re probably aware). I ponied up for the fuel pump since it’s a good clean way to do it. I bought all the accoutrements to go...

What have you done to your square lately??

I’m assuming in 1981 they had a cruise stalk on the column? It just has me baffled- unless they installed them in all of these trucks and just connected it if the option was ordered? Or maybe it’s a retrofit that someone started to add but never finished it.

What have you done to your square lately??

Put the second coat of paint on the 73-80 inner fenders. Probably get started on them when the rain officially hits for the fall. That said, I got to looking and is this a cruise control module? It’s haphazardly bolted to the driver side inner fender. Which would be weird since I don’t even...

    First post with Questions

Welcome! Sometimes cheap spark plug wires can cause radio interference, I’ve experienced it myself. Does it increase and decrease with engine speed? My moms old Chevette did that when I was a kid. As far as the lowering goes, there is a sticky thread that will tell you all...
