Priming a New Water Pump?
As far as a humming/whining noise, could be. I’ve had them groan, squeak and every sort of sound. A whining sound could be more indicative of something with gears- like a steering pump. I suppose it could be timing gears but I’ve had ones that were completely shot and didn’t make any whining...- ChuckN

Priming a New Water Pump?
I’m not saying I’m doing it the right way, but I’ve not once ever primed a water pump. Good question tho. I have heard of people getting a pocket and having to burp a system, but it’s never happened to me. Good luck on the project and keep us posted. Merry Christmas!- ChuckN

Today, got back at the radiator project. I decided to try a flex hose for the lower hose since no one makes one in the stock form with a 1.75” radiator outlet. Got it all buttoned up, then the alternator wouldn’t play with the flex hose, not enough real estate. Since I have old camelhump heads... -

Got the radiator underway. I ordered a radiator with a 1.75” outlet on the bottom, figuring that I was replacing the old one anyway. Big mistake! The stock molded hose doesn’t appear to be made in any other than a 1.5” outlet. So I’m stuck with a generic flex hose or have to cobble something... -
