    radiator mounting questions

If you are in a pinch, and the rubber mounts you have are broken down or just plain bad, take some heater hose you have laying around, cut it in half lengthwise and trim it to size. That should get you by.

    Air Conditioning Delete

You’re speaking my language. This is one of my major to-do projects upcoming. Some of what you had to do, bracketry, etc, was already done when I purchased the truck. It was originally a straight 6 truck, and the engine swap that I inherited with the purchase entailed a 350 with camel hump heads...

What have you done to your square lately??

I feel for ya bud. If you have the resources, I’d pull the plug and order one. You’ve battled this longer than I’d have the patience for.

    2003 Acura MDX

I’d rock it, why not? The Toyotas and Hondas we’ve had have been absolute champs. The Sienna I have has the character of a kitchen appliance, but it is dead reliable. If it works for you and no car payment, no downside? That said, I’d like to print some “my other car is a squarebody “ stickers...

    Quality replacement steering box

Really? That’s pretty cool. Is that a direct bolt on? I’m following this thread. My steering box is due for an upgrade, but I don’t need a quick ratio. All I do is cruise around town, anyway.

Almost met Jesus this AM due to a faulty thermostat!

Sounds scary! Just glad you’re ok. Do you feel like it went into some kind of limp mode? That sounds weird.

What have you done to your square lately??

Not much going on today, I just replaced the hazard flasher that wasn’t working anymore, and while was at it, washed the seat cover and gave it the Mexican blanket treatment. Overall, fairly productive for in between time tasks. And by that I mean, in between the wife keeping me busy, ha ha. And...

    Greetings from Seattle

Yep! Sounds like we would have a bit to talk about. I was born outside of Flint, and lived in Atlas/Goodrich. After my parents divorced, my mom moved us to Waterford/Pontiac area, and in my 20s I moved to Kalamazoo where I met my wife. Since I was into Mountaineering/alpine climbing at the time...

What have you done to your square lately??

Today, finally got around to replacing the shifter spring, much easier than I thought it would be. Then I cleaned up the chrome on the shifter. The lever no longer looks like it needs a Viagra prescription.

    Hello Squarebody lovers

Welcome from the upper left corner! Nice rig, I like it. Every time @Doppleganger puts that picture up, I get a hankering to go watch some old Hee Haw.

    Lazy thermostat?

Thanks bud. I’ll just watch it and roll for now.

    Lazy thermostat?

Was wondering if anyone had ever had temp climb to 210 or above before opening and cooling right down? I replaced mine with a 160 about a year ago and it hasn’t been driven much, maybe 1000-1200 miles. Radiator is a brand new Cold Case aluminum. The temp sensor is in the intake manifold since...

What have you done to your square lately??

One of those days where I got off of work early and all the stars aligned. Dry weather, so I fired up the truck and got it right out of the garage and out into the country. Stayed nice and cool the whole entire time. No creeping up to above 210 at speed.

    VARMITS

We have had an infestation that has been problematic, chewed up the wiring harness on one of our newer cars before we even knew we had a problem. Some poison set around the perimeter helped and we also sprayed our engine bays with peppermint oil. Then we set to removing their food source, which...
