There’s two ports on the front that are the same size- one is lower that is manifold vacuum. I use manifold vacuum for vacuum advance. I don’t use a PCV valve, have a breather to atmosphere on each valve cover. But I did use that large port to hook up a vacuum gauge to tune the idle mixture. I... -

Transmission Upgrade?
A quick way is to turn both wheels together exactly one turn and see how many times the driveshaft turns- that will be a rough ratio for you. Thanks for all the input so far. I like the rallies and was looking for a something midling in sizes- I could only fine 20 or 22”. Then I found US Mags are now offering just about everything from 17” up in the rally style.- ChuckN

A guy offered me a couple 17” Torque Thrust II wheels that he isn’t using anymore. I’ve always liked the stock rallies and finally got the clearance sorted. But he wants 100/wheel for these, about 100$ or more in savings from new. I’d have to buy new tires, plus wheels and tires for the rear...- ChuckN

Well, already had to replace the header gaskets. I supplied the shop with them when having them installed and the exhaust re-bent with the compressible aluminum ones, but they swore that they would need the square port version because of the exhaust ports. They did use the compressible gasket... -

This morning at 3am, I was awoken by the spirit of hot rodding (aka a 16 year old with a 91 civic and a fart can exhaust trying to do burnouts with 90hp of fury) so I got up and got after the starter wiring. Can confirm it would have melted and eventually caused catastrophe. So I got creative... -

Shorty spark plugs in, and reconfigured the plug wires to avoid burning them. As it turns out, no heat shields needed. As noted in the other thread, more wire protection for the starter/wiring from the headers going in tomorrow or Monday. -

Yeah, I hear what you’re saying. It could be ok if the Velcro was rotated away from the heat source but I’m not a fan. Turns out, Autozone apparently has a DEI starter wrap in stock, so I think what I’ll do is pick one of those up, rotate the Velcro to the inside of the block, and put the...- ChuckN

I was about ready to post something and I found this thread. Is DEI heat wrap (the kind with Velcro) really pretty good? Moses sandals! That’s better. Before… And after. Ground clearance is so much better now. Edit- just ordered some shorter spark plugs and need to get those boot protectors on there that I’ve had forever. -

Holy cow! That’s nuts. Hopefully nothing bad happened. My ball joints are new on the CPP control arms, but it’s something to look at- they could always be defective. -

Got old blue out for a drive. Looks like the steering box might need to break in a bit, doesn’t quite return to center on its own and feels stiffer. I double checked that the box was centered and it is, and the only think I changed was the steering box, so I guess I’ll just have to wait and see...
