    Edelbrock Adapter questions

Most everything else common has been gone through, though it is a fairly tired little engine. make's around 35 p oil pressure. plugs, wires, cap, rotor, haven't vacc tested, bought the tool though. the used Edelbrock I got came off a running dodge magnum so not too worried about that. All good...

There's an older Holly manifold around, could it work to just pair this Edel and set it on top of my .305?

    Edelbrock Adapter questions

I have a 1986 K10 with a .305 and a VERY trash quadrajet that had an attempted rebuild. Just bought a used Edelbrock 1406 600 cfm to start over. I know I need an adapter, what what one? I've heard #5765 or #2696 as useable adapters, but can anyone confirm? And is there anything else that needs...

What size is my fuel tank?

I watched it as I filled it the last time, and it really blows out from around the unit, makes little gazers then runs down the sides of the tank. I bought I seal already. someone's already cut a hole in the floor over the tank so that helps.

What size is my fuel tank?

It's a gas 350 V1500, I'll go out and measure it now. Issue now I found totally separate from this is that the tank leaks a ton out of the top when I fill it up! Sender unit or seal? More $$$ either way...

What size is my fuel tank?

On the dash its marked "suburban SLE" if that's any indication.

What size is my fuel tank?

I'd still like to figure it out for other reasons, When I filled it up to the max it was leaking out of the top! So some replacement parts may be in order.

What size is my fuel tank?

On my 90' suburban I'm trying to figure out my tank size for helping calculate my mpg, but I cant figure out if its a 36, 38, 40 or something else. is there a definite way of telling?

Finally have this girl home, now what?

Yes, all VERY good things, Since the truck was so cheap, I can afford to put money into it. Yes the speedo reads 5-7 too high. The upper and lower front left ball joints where replaced, I know that can be a factor messing stuff up, probably needs a good alignment?

Finally have this girl home, now what?

Posted I bought this suburban a while ago. (1990 V1500 350) only just got it home. As a novice, I don't know of to address a few of the issues I've encountered. I had a good while to get to know the truck on the 150 mile drive home, here's some of the quirks I noticed: Steering feels very...

Finally did it! Bought a suburban, what now?

Ok, I'm going to look the tank over better next time. Offhand, I didn't see any dirt falling off the sides so it can't be too packed. I specifically checked the tail pan/under rear doors area because I'd see so many others with holes there, not a speck, it's gotta have been replaced to be so...

Finally did it! Bought a suburban, what now?

@Camar068, Awesome analysis. look at all those things while there, breaks decent if not a little soft. No shaking or pulling left or right. He said they looked at the drums last winter and they where decent. The steering is responsive, not very sloppy. No leaks. He believes from looking at it...

Why not? Is it dangerous to try to clean it?

Also sorry to throw a wet blanket on you guys, but I turned down the plow ( still could get it though) It just would've been an extra 800 dollars, and I wanted some cash leftover. But I figured the tires alone would make up a 3rd of the price so I so think it was a decent deal. Sorry :(

I think the mileage won't actually be so bad. He says he drives it 90 miles regularly and he guesses he can get 12 to 15 highway.

Finally did it! Bought a suburban, what now?

Few days ago I finally ended my search and bought a 1990 GMC 1500 suburban. This truck has higher miles, (220K) but a low miles engine. (150K) A few reasons why I decided on this rig: 1, the price was right, only 3,400$. 2, repairs. the high miles didn't put me off becasue I saw how much work...

    Mpg to expect on an '82 C20 3+3, 350?

I already daily drive my 86 305 and it's not terrible on gas. though making as little as I do in my situation at my age I really shouldn't! I like them trucks too much.

    Mpg to expect on an '82 C20 3+3, 350?

Can't get the ratio and trans right now... It's a friends vehicle. Out of interest and for comparison sake, what'd a 1/2 ton 4x4 350 auto '89 suburban get? 16 highway on a good day?

    Mpg to expect on an '82 C20 3+3, 350?

I'd mainly do 55 on country roads, to and from work, easy driving. its an automatic, let me figure out the rear gear and if she has overdrive...
