Fixing a jimmy rigged electrical system

I think that order sounds great to me. I'll get that going and try and see where the red on goes to. It goes into one of those wire harness covers so I proably have to cut that open, and follow it. I check again on the fuse

Fixing a jimmy rigged electrical system

Sorry for the delay. I got the pictures. I tested and got zero positive connection, however on the on wire I did get 12c volts of ground though. I think that the picture I got of the fire wall is the fusible link that you're talking about but I'm not positive. The fuse box was under the stering...

Fixing a jimmy rigged electrical system

I'll look for fuses. I haven't seen a normal fuse box like on several trucks, but I'll look again and check inside the truck as well

Fixing a jimmy rigged electrical system

Yeah its pretty small. I assumed it must be newer then i'm used to and more efficient. But yeah, I'm used to older alfa romeos and they're just a 4 cylinder and still has a bigger pump.

Fixing a jimmy rigged electrical system

I've done wiring and crimping and such. Generically with cheap harbor freight kits, and I might have some left over, if not I can always purchase some more.

Fixing a jimmy rigged electrical system

Yeah fairly tough online to be able to tell. the big positive cable doesn't go straight to th start it goes to the solenoid thing, and after that it doesn't make it across al the way to the starter.

Fixing a jimmy rigged electrical system

Yeah I got a picture right here. It's a little bit of a mess of wires but on the back it has the threes wires from the distributor cap going to the distributor itself. then on the right there is the yellow and red wires joined together with electrical tape. That yellow wire is the one going to...

Fixing a jimmy rigged electrical system

I'll take a look. And Thanks! I appreciate it! I guess I mostly thought maybe someone would know what the wires need to go to, even though it's jiimyrigged someone that's a better mechanic then me might have an idea. But those diagrams should help. Thanks

Fixing a jimmy rigged electrical system

So I'm attempting to get my truck running, 1985 2500. It was diesel, but converted over to a 5.7. When I fist bought it it needed some carb work, (It did start up but was running horribly) After doing the work all the sudden the key doesn't do anything. Whoever switched it over tp a 5.7...

Brake pedal drops to the floor

Thanks so much for all the help! I haven't been able to bleed the brakes yet because I have the truck parked and it snow (doing some engine repairs so it doesn't start right up currently). I went to tow it into my garage and the rear driver side wheel is locked up. I'm assuming something with...

Brake pedal drops to the floor

Sorry for the confusion, and yeah I'll get those back brakes. It snowed like crazy today and there isn't room in my shop, so I'll have to wait for it to clear a bit to bleed the brakes but I'll do it with that sequence. And as far as bleeding the MC. It didn't come with the hose like most of...

Brake pedal drops to the floor

I definitely didn't know this. I didn't even touch the rear brakes thinking that the front brakes was definitely the priority. I'll try that when I bleed them today.

Brake pedal drops to the floor

Haha, no offense taken. I'm still learning the whole mechanics game but luckily I did know that. Thanks for the thought though! If you'd caught me 2 years ago that might have been an issue

Brake pedal drops to the floor

Yes I only had the plastic caps. Not the tunes and all but it seemed to work fairly well still

Brake pedal drops to the floor

Haha, yeah we got a lot in common And that makes sense. I guess air could be anywhere in the system not just right at the bleeders. I'll probably try that out with that tool. Maybe I try bleeding normal but just run more fluid than normal and see if air bubbles eventually come out. I'll try...

Brake pedal drops to the floor

So I have my 1985 gmc 2500. Originally it was a diesel but currently has a 5.7 that was dropped in there. When I try to press the brakes the pedal gives no resistince and drops to the floor except maybe the lst 1/2 inch where it applies proably 10% brakes. obviously not safe to drive. I first...
