    342 and a 700r4 will give you 1900 ish rpm at 70mph, 3:08 is 300rpm less, 3:73 is 300 more... if you have any plans for bigger tires 373 is a min. 410 + are better for big tires

    it cost the same to build a 4l60 to hold power as a 700r4, so it only makes sense they blew up the 60 and got a deal on a 700 someone didnt want.. I could car about originality but it is worth more with a 60 than the 700 because I wouldnt have to mess around and figure out what someone else did.

    Just buy a new distributor then, the cost of pick coil, icm, cap, rotor, puts you about $20 from a new dist.. the new dist has new bushings in the shaft unlike the old and you have to remove the dist to replace the pickup coil anyway. Plus you can make th eld dist into an oil pump priming tool.

    You can get pretty low with static drops but you lose ride quality and is why people switch to air bags, so you need to decide if you want it to ride like a go kart or a caddy while cruising and how much you can afford.

    you have to use the gasket to match the intake, since you have a spread bore intake based on using the 454 adapter, you should use that gasket on bottom and a tbi gasket on top.

    actually they had the 260hp because they use the same tiny cam as the vortec truck engines... the iron heads actually flow better because they were in R&D longer than the alum. that went into production in 92 , they blue print for the 96+ vortec heads.

    Pretty sure the hall effect sensor wont work or the ls swap guys wouldnt be buying all the 91 speedos, in the older systems you just set the trans values to 0 and its a manual..not sure how it would work with newer ecm. why not use the 4l60e?
