I have a set of tan buckets in my shed too! :D Lol.
This is why I never have any space. I grab every good deal that comes along as far as squarebody parts. Haha

My buddy just replaced those u-joints on his k10 and he said he had to grind down the corners of the caps a bit to get them to fit through. The original caps were rounded and the new ones are squared.

It's always better to ask and know for sure than to just assume and screw something up.
I've driven with mine locked in at 60-65 a lot and never any issues. They're made for it.
I've always removed the bolts from the arms that the hood pivots on. Leave it attached to the hinges. Then with the help of a friend you can swing the whole hood forward and down. You gain 6 to 8 inches this way.
Welcome to GMSB! You'll find plenty of advice and opinions here for sure. :Big Laugh:
Good luck on your search and we'll be happy to try and answer any questions you might have about any trucks you're looking at.
I would just take everything off but the visor and send it all to Pawpaw so he could have spares. My buddy had a visor on his K10 in high school and I liked it.

Here's a nice original '83 K1500. Too bad it has that stupid spoiler thing screwed to the roof...
