    Alternate Steering Wheel

the head unit is a BOSS Audio Systems BVCP9700A-CFL Car Stereo System - Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Single Din With 7 Inch Touchscreen, Bluetooth and Calling Head Unit, FYI, this is a Boss not a Bose, for under $200 on amazon I found it works well for my needs. I also used a different back up...

    Alternate Steering Wheel

OP being radio I assume :). I like the fit since it is a single din and the screen articulates from the center. It comes out far enough to miss stick out pass the indented radio portion of the instrument panel and low enough not to block the HVAC controls. Having said all that, the radio is not...

Nice steering wheel, does that same one come in 14 inch?

    Alternate Steering Wheel

The vette wheel is a bit different, it is still a 2 spoke which allows better visibility for gauges like the Jimmy, I am assuming the fit would be the same but not sure how well the Vette wheel collar fits to my steering column. It should bolt up fine but I am thinking about the diameter of the...

    Alternate Steering Wheel

Hello, I am currently using a 94 Jimmy steering wheel on my burb., see pic. I have always hated the OEM steering wheels for burbs (too big and look so-so). I was thinking about an 86 Corvette C4 steering wheel. Has anyone out there tried one.

    Wiper Blade size

Hello, I was wondering what size wiper blades you all use? OEM is 16", I have been using 17" for years on my Squarebodies but recently changed to 18". No issue as of yet for me.

how fast is your power window?

This my 3rd burb with power windows and no matter how much I lube the gears, channels etc... they are slow. I have also installed all new weather-stripping which doesn't help much either. They are notoriously slow because the way they are wired up with out relays like modern cars. Having said...

    81 k30 no fuel.

I had an 84 burb that was fuel starved. I too replaced the fuel pump and filter. I did not have dual tanks though. After I ended up dropping the tank I found the small rubber fuel lines from the top of the tank to the hard lines was so old they were collapsing when under pressure. Just a thought?

What have you done to your square lately??

Looks like I posted this one to the wrong thread as well, I posted it in what tools I got lately. :) a couple years ago I upholstered and added fully electric seats from a Yukon (with integrated seat belts). The Yukon console was crap so I added a Chrysler mini van console at the time. I wanted...

What have you done to your square lately??

Looks like I posted this to the wrong thread, I posted it in what tools I got lately. :) I added a stainless steel filler panel between the bumper and the back of my Burb. The old plastic piece was warped and looked like crap. I do not have a before pic but it is basically a replica of the...

What new tools have you got lately?

I added a jump seat/center console from a 2012 Silverado. The seats are from a 2004 Yukon which are fully electric. I added the seats a couple years ago with a small center console from a Chrysler mini van but the Silverado jump seat fills the space much better and is more useful. I upholstered...

What new tools have you got lately?

Here is a pic of the filler piece I added on my Burb. This replaces the old crappy plastic one that GM used to cover the gap between the bumper and the body. I used brushed stainless steel and made a clone of the old plastic one

    Brake shoe placement?

Do your self a favor and get a Vacuum brake bleeder. Capri makes a nice one (CP21029) and Amazon has knockoff brands starting $30. Easy to use and you can flush your whole system solo, just stop every so often and top off master cylinder.

What was previous owner trying to do?

My 84 Burb had the same butcher job when I bought it, The previous owner put on 35s and chopped it up so he would rub tires when turning. Waste of good sheet metal

87 Stock TBI 350 air cleaner lid flip upside down? Does it help? does it hurt? good or bad idea?

Stay away from drawing in warm air from the engine bay, if you want more air, your truck should have fresh air intake ports on both sides of the radiator. My last burb i had a dual snorkel from a 78 vette and ran the stock tube on the passenger side and had to modify the drivers side to clear my...

    Fuel Line Repair at TBI

Ranch is correct about pulling the TBI, I would avoid "patching" the hard lines and get new ones. Once the TBI and the distributer is off it is not hard to fish them down to the frame rail where they attached to the hard lines

    Squarebody Parking Brake Rebuild

it is almost like a rivot. I had to grind the head off and used a clevis pin and welded a washer on the back side to hold it in when I put it all back together

    Vent window trick?

I changed out my seals with OEM replicas and found my old latches were still a bit loose. I used these Amazon ones and they made the difference. These windows almost always leaked a bit when new, with old seals it is impossible to keep them quiet if you plan to use them

    heater issues

I had same issues in the past. I would strongly suggest looking at the blend door clip. OEM is cheap plastic and all 5 of my SB had broken ones. Here is a pic of one from the part guy.com. They sell an aluminum one. If you go this far get a rebuild kit and replace the seals, vacuum lines and...

    Front drive shaft splines showing?

Had the same issue with my 84 burb when I lifted it. I ended up taking my front shaft in and having it lengthened. If you run it too long in 4 wheel with it not fully "seated" it can eventually waste the splines. As for the rear springs. they do get fatigued and will lose height, that sounds...

    What is you headlight setup

Some people might like them but I run LEDs. I do a LOT of night driving and with a 4 headlight set up like my 87 work great and I am in somewhat rural area and the brights on a 4 buld LED set up is better than my new F 150 with HIDs
