    Inline 6 devac

It appears they have become rather obsolete. The only one I can readily find is Corvette at $30+ dollars. NAPA was my go to finding them in the past, looking for temp (which is usually marked on them) and thread pitch. I did find a good pic that shows how to plumb an EFE specific or any 3 port...

    Inline 6 devac

If your EFE valve still worked, I would route a lone manifold vacuum line to the TVS, and a lone vacuum line from the TVS to the EFE valve. It is just a fancy heat riser and will help with warm up. The only caveat is if it is one of those ridiculously high temp (170F+) ones that stays on too...

    Inline 6 devac

Actually, this engine family (194, 230, 250, 292) was all new for 1963 (and a lot lighter), and shares design elements with the SBC. The old Chevy 6 continued for decades in Brazil.

I am updating my list, I made the #4 post in the thread. I've had this for quite some time now, but don't drive it often. It is a 2019 and I have only 17K miles on it. The 6.2L in it makes me view the first gen SBC like a flat head Ford now. Speaking of which, I really need to sell the Caprice...

    Inline 6 devac

It is an integral head, and the vacuum and piping on top is the Pulse AIR system. I think there is an integral head valve cover without the Pulse AIR system. They would be '75 to '78-ish. Keep in mind the integral heads are known for cracking, so it may need to go away all together. Some people...

    Power Steering pump

You can 'rent' the tool to remove/install the pulley from the chain stores. I've resealed quite a number of them, some just because they were off as a preventive measure.

    Rattle noise from A/C compressor

The funny part of this is, Corvettes have passenger's side compressor mounting! I knew about the hardware issue with R4s with driver's side mounts. The spacers/washers look a bit cobbled up, so I can see how it happened. Never thought about it with the Corvette mount.

6.5 Turbo reliability for an RV?

A turbo 6.5 even has the dreaded nylon coated, pot metal wonder? I've got a friend (original owner) of a '92 3/4 ton w/100K miles (looks like new). He has the radiator out at the moment, I suggested a new water pump, since it is original. Never thought about the timing gear.

Wiring mystery - one unexplained dark green wire left from inline 6 to 350 swap

You are quite welcome. The "metal temp switches" can drive people crazy too when they malfunction. A sudden overheat gets most peoples attention, but may not be the easiest to reproduce.

Wiring mystery - one unexplained dark green wire left from inline 6 to 350 swap

GM commonly used 2 temp wires on some inline engines, even with a temp gauge. The standard sending unit was wired in parallel with a temp switch with gauges. This allowed the temp switch (sometimes called the metal temp switch) to peg the gauge in the event of an overheat too. Same idea with...

How much does your square body weigh?

The scrap yard claimed 4600 with my C20 empty. It does have PS, A/C and a T400. It has HD brakes, which are 1 ton without Hydroboost. Don't recall how much fuel.

    PLEASE HELP WITH THIS 250

Just to clarify, that is the unique passenger's side mount on a 292. Everything else (194, 230, 250) mounts in the middle of the block where the fuel pump is on the 292.

    oil pressure switch

I had one do exactly that earlier in the year. This was a replacement for another (same brand - Warrantied) that leaked and always made the oil pressure light turn on until the engine lost pressure, AFTER the switch was turned off. This replacement did the same thing, until it left me stranded...

Delco GM Radio identification model for restoration

The radios just going dead is a common failure. IiRC, no power on the extra connector just makes the radio lose the time for the clock and the radio presets. It will still operate normally with the ignition turned to 'run'.

Delco GM Radio identification model for restoration

The extra, 2 wire connector is constant 12V for memory, IIRC. There was no constant power in the main connector of that vintage.

What is this and what does it do?

I don't think it is an EGR solenoid, but I really don't know. Does the truck still have a vacuum diagram?

    Air conditioning

Is it possible the lines are reversed at the condenser, like happens on the GMT400 trucks? My 292 L6 system is so different from a V8, I don't recall if reversal is possible.

What is this and what does it do?

Appears to be a vacuum switching solenoid that is missing a vacuum line.

What is this and what does it do?

I'm guessing we are looking at an Electronic Spark Control (knock) module. This one happens to be TBI.

    Fm radio not working

The AM/FM slide switch is very prone to getting electrically 'dirty' on my '84 w/cassette unit. I occasionally have needed to slide / click it back and forth multiple times when it hasn't been used in a long time.

Poll -Would doing a LS swap in a CLEAN 1987 V10 INCREASE to DECREASE VALUE?

DO IT:cheers: The rest of the vehicle is still attached to the L86, so just another family truckster. I just had no idea how they screamed!

Still have my old ones (really need to sell the Caprice) https://www.gmsquarebody.com/threads/show-your-daily-driver.31126/ but I've had a new one for going on a year. Not at all an SUV person, but this (2019, 17K miles) is handy with my two spinal surgeries this year. The 6.2L screams and gets...

Poll -Would doing a LS swap in a CLEAN 1987 V10 INCREASE to DECREASE VALUE?

As much as I hate to say it, my Gen 1 seems like a flat head Ford after owning an L86 (LT, 6.2L). I need to post a pic as my daily driver.
