exactly what rpcraft said you will eliminate many headaches and variables by getting a newer stock one that was fabricated at factory, including e brake setup....and no bolt on plates....no sloppy studs, no confusion about which rotor.....etc.. and will be totally cheaper.....

Just an fyi on cutting bezels, the easiest way and quick also is a hacksaw blade by it self....wrap duct tape around one end for your hand and they come out nice.....no pic at the moment....really do not feel like pulling that rats nest out right now....lol

Not to be rude but its obvious that tge shims were put in for worn mounts, if you installed all new mounts i would remove all shims and replace as needed if needed at all before you go making adjustments....and also it may not hurt to loosen all connecting panels just a smidge to allow things to...
Id say yours "was" most likely mariner blue, but either way im positive thats not the hawaiin blue. Im sure that color did not come out until early 90's but i may be wrong and it may not be the original paint. So forgive me if im mistaken

Dont go americant autowire, i spent nearly $900 for the "73-87 classic update kit" and am fully disgusted for many reasons.....for one) finding out later that i could probably get the same or better for half the price. Second) thy skimped on the lamp sockets, instead of using the newer style...
