Goldie is finally put to rest

Hey everybody, it's been a while!! Wanting to say hey and I got me a new pad, (well, new to me).. and my wife is due next month..... my new baby-girl is almost here!!! I recently acquired a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 127k, for the right price of a couch swap from my wife's uncle. It...

    cab noise

Mine is OK on wind noise..depending on how windy the day is... I know I need new rubber all the way around, but I hear that the C-!0's are notorious for not having the quietest interiors by design anyway I've found that if I crack my vent window at Highway speeds, it quiets down the...

    Timing issues

I hear ya.. me too, was working out at Morning Star, but season ended in October. I'll hit you up.. figured it was something like that, it's really not that big of a deal, seeings that I don't have to smog it this year (whew):waytogo: My dad picked this gun up for $10 at a yard sale, and...

    Timing issues

I recently aquired a timing light, to try and get my square all dialed in good. I wanted to see how close or far it was off the mark.... The light I got was standard (battery terminal connections, and hook for number 1 plug wire..) Hooked it up, marked the timing line with chalk and...

    Emmisions Discussion

Thank you, I stand corrected sir...., Actually.. I did some further research, (and to my surprise), found out that California did indeed pass "Assembly Bill 1488", in Oct 2007, that would require testing of certain diesel engines starting Jan 1, 2010... Here's the long and short of it, I...

Why not 88 89 in squarebody

... Just a tidbit to add to this thread, I think I mentioned this before on another thread.. not sure if here or not.. but in Mexico they still made the Squarebody pickups with the updated nose up until 1991, minus the crewcabs.

    6x9 Subs...perhaps?

Honestly, I just came across those researching online.. sort of by mistake. I've been reading that a set of those...or some like em boxed up and amped right can sound just as good as a 10 or 12 inch... especially in a small cab like a square has. I've also seen that kicker has some too... and...

    6x9 Subs...perhaps?

In the pursuit of good sound clarity with deep bass... a square body owner such as my self, has to give up seat space...less I do a cut through (which is not going to happen to my goldie) I've researched shallow mount subs..and such.. but one still has to move the seat up. Seeings that I'm 6...

    Cab Light Options???

Wow...don't think I've ever seen anything like that on a square? You sure you wanna get rid of that? Pretty unique. Lol How would you get rid of that? Besides sell the truck? Are they leaking? Btw... sorry "Bagged" for hijacking your thread with this.

???Sound system for 85 chevy K30????

Sure it is. Just remember that you never want to run more wattage through speakers than what they're rated for, because you'll pop the speakers. Whatever sub you get, just keep in mind what it's peak watts are, and grab an amp with less wattage. If the amp is a few hundred watts under the...

???Sound system for 85 chevy K30????

Yeah... that all looks great, more than enough for what your looking for. You should be set with that. As far as the amp goes.... what it is, is they can come with let's say... a 2 or 4 channel set up..meaning you can connect up to 4 speakers off of one amp...or 2 if its a 2 channel amp. If...

???Sound system for 85 chevy K30????

You don't even need the 3 way 6X9's... you could just grab the highs from the 5" 'ers in the doors.... they have 2 or three way set ups. The 6x9's could be of good quality.. not spectacular... like Pioneer's or JVC's or something. Good head unit is what you want... for skipping resistance...

    89 Suburban Dashboard & A/C Ducting Removal

Ahhh...I see, wow it must not get that hot over in your neck of the woods in the summer.. I would melt if I had no A/C in my square... we fry in the summers here... shoot it's late October and we're still hovering around 80

    89 Suburban Dashboard & A/C Ducting Removal

BTW... IMO.. I always thought those were the coolest HVAC controls in a Silverado.... I used to have a 92 Ext Cab, with the same set-up... Even though I never really understood the idea behind the silly set-up with the stock stereo head unit in one spot, and the graphic EQ and cassette...

    89 Suburban Dashboard & A/C Ducting Removal

X2 :popcorn: But...... John, what exactly are you all trying to do with removing your ducts and stuff???? I see the HVAC Control from a 90's Silverado... are you gonna set that up to work with your A/C in your Burb??

    Simple speaker question

Well yeah, you should be good to go... I was just suggesting as if you were gonna amp up a sub or something. But if your not... bass it up all you want..LOL. People have a tendancy to crank up those big systems...and the only bass you should be getting is from the subs, the head unit bass...
