    SOLD - Inline 6 intake/exhaust/carburetor

Been sitting on this for over a year and it's time to make some space in the garage. Factory intake and exhaust manifolds, Rochester monojet carburetor, air cleaner, and exhaust downpipe from a pre-1975 250 inline 6. Previous owner had swapped out the head for a non-integrated and presumably...

    Dual carburetors on 250 I-6?

I personally am running an Edelbrock 1403 (500 cfm). It's definitely too big and runs a little rich, and I've been stepping it down with a carb jetting/metering kit as well but there's only so far you can go with that. Definitely runs a lot better than it did with the old monojet and stock...

    Dual carburetors on 250 I-6?

Was about to say that as well, the 0-8007 Holley 390 cfm is often recommended to mate up to the quad barrel Offenhauser intake and is said to deliver good results

    4.1L 250 cid L6 w/ integrated head -- Need Help w/ Rebuild or Upgrade

I've got non-integrated intake and exhaust manifolds and rochester monojet carb from my truck you're more than welcome to have. I swapped them out for an offenhauser quad barrel intake manifold, a set of long-tube headers, and a four-barrel carb. The monojet is probably the same you have, so...

    How To Refurbish Your Dashpad

I bought the RetroSound R410UK off of Amazon and it fit fine. I remember researching it when I first put my stereo/speakers in and I think it has to be a certain shallow depth to actually fit, many newer ones had bigger coils or magnets and wouldn't fit. Just something to think about

    Height difference

I've noticed that exact same thing on my truck, consistently a one inch drop on the passenger (fuel tank) side from the front to the rear. I can't imagine a tank of gas to weigh that much to shift the entire truck, I had just assumed it had worn differently over the forty years since it came...

    Pic and Pull

The one I mentioned to you before was Martin Towing in Lexington NC. They've always got a couple squares (based on their Craigslist ads), and you can always give them a call beforehand to see if they have what you need. The guy working there is super helpful. Very small in terms of a pick and...

    292 I6 Restart Trouble

Sounds to me like classic carburetor heat soak. I've heard you can solve it by adding carb spacers or adding a return/recirculation gas line to the tank. My 250 used to do that on the old monojet, and I would just kinda floor it while cranking and it seemed to help. Since I've gone to an...

    Show your daily driver

The square is my true daily driver, but when it's sunny (and I'm feeling slightly better fuel economy) the Miata gets to stretch its legs.

What have you done to your square lately??

Installed new fog lights courtesy of @bigcountry78 and they're fantastic, IMO

    Curt Trailer Wiring Harness

Absolutely, and it's yours at any time. Did you determine your truck has the rounded pins?

    Kill switch ideas?

I don't know how true it is, but I like to think the same about my truck; three speed column shifted, I even have friends who already know how to drive manual that can't seem to figure this thing out

    intergrated heads, options and modification

I've yet to pull the head off of my own 250, so I'm afraid I can't help with a lot of personal experience there. Referring to my Haynes manual, it says you will need to remove rocker arms and pushrods in addition to the valve cover. Obviously since they're attached to the heads, you'll be...

    Curt Trailer Wiring Harness

Curt T-Connectors 55311 new in box, purchased on summit but has the wrong connectors. It's a no-splice 4-way flat trailer wiring connector, says it fits 73-84 Blazer, C/K pickup, Suburban, but did not fit my 1978 Chevy C10. Mine has flat pins instead of the rounded ones, can't find much...

Harbor Freight Recalls REPLACEMENT Jack Stands

I actually just researched this very subject recently, and, thanks to the HF recalls I didn't grab the HF 6 tons. Glad I didn't now. On multiple forums I saw a general consensus of the Strongway series being pretty good. I picked up a pair of Strongway 6 tons for $45 and they seem pretty...

Squarebody Down! HELP - Member Roadside Assistance Volunteer Map

I've been wanting to join this map for a while. I'm not terribly useful (new to car work and such) but I've got a solid selection of jacks, hand tools, power tools, welder...mostly just a desire to help though. I can help anywhere in the Raleigh/Durham NC area, area code is technically 27522

Chain Grade for Lifting Body from Frame

Hey all! Just wanted to close out by saying I can't thank everyone that chimed in here enough, I really appreciate all the help and advice I've received. The body pull was a success and the GTO restoration can continue. So as not to leave you guys hanging, here are some photos from...

Chain Grade for Lifting Body from Frame

I was originally thinking I could get the angle out enough (either have the hoist high enough or use some sort of load leveler) to not be touching the body at all. Wouldn't putting pressure against the body with straps (if the angle were too great) also have the potential to cause damage to the...

Chain Grade for Lifting Body from Frame

I think I've solidified my plan as follows: start at the front, placing a 2x10 under the floorpans and jacking up the front end of the body a few inches off the frame slide in a 4x4x8, run some eyebolts through either end and rest on two jackstands move to rear, put a 4x4x3 with some eyebolts...

Chain Grade for Lifting Body from Frame

That's actually a fantastic idea, I wish I'd have thought of that sooner. I actually welded up my own workbench about a year ago out of 1/8" thick square steel tubing, it's a little high (almost 4 feet) but close to what you described. I do have a couple 20' lengths left over, maybe I could...

Chain Grade for Lifting Body from Frame

So that's actually a really good point and one I've been thinking about for this process. There are a couple factors that help me from what I can tell; one is that it's a hardtop, and the other is that I plan on keeping the doors in for some added protection against it folding like a pretzel...

In that direction and just a little further, I'm about in the Raleigh/Durham area

Chain Grade for Lifting Body from Frame

Here ya go, maybe this is what you wanted (excuse my mess of a garage, it turns out cars take up a lot more space in pieces)

 ...uh. well thanks, now I've got other fears about this project

Chain Grade for Lifting Body from Frame

Hell yeah! I like putting my tools through their paces, separate the quality from the garbage. I sure could use some lengths of chain laying around anyways, wouldn't be bad to keep in the truck in case somebody needs a quick tow as well
