No you won't notice any difference in power provided it isn't a feedback system [O2 sensor]. I question why take any of it off? What are you attempting to accomplish? Surface rust. What are the best practices?
Bed is easy slurry blast or sand blast. Slurry blast will not distort metal. To do the same with interior nearly everything will need to be stripped out. Sand will get everywhere. Bed below is a Ranchero just after epoxy primer was applied. Metal is about the same gauge, slurry blasted, no warping -
Rebuild or Swap?
About a year ago needed a 350 rebuilt because GM no longer makes new ones. Afterward had a second thought about the heads. Originals were busted so needed usable cores. The shop I referred to went bankrupt, basically because of poor management. Saw it coming and moved after 8 years to another shop. The other diagnostic tech did as well. After that they had parts 2 changers. At the time it was the largest shop by size in the area. About 20 stalls 2 parts...- fast 99

Yes, do need to verify where it is leaking first. Intake is more likely. However, do disagree on replacing the head gasket because your partially into it. Could be a lot of things, from coolant sensor to base plate gasket, fuel supply on and on. There are inexpensive adapters that will allow access to diagnostic information. Need Help with Rear Brakes.
Go back to post 4. If fluid can't be pushed to the rear there is a restriction. Proceed from the front to the back breaking lines loose to find where fluid ends. Suggest doing it this way because occasionally gravity bleeding will not work.- fast 99

Really, factory gauges are indicators. Unless brakes are dragging causing the motor to work harder can't see a connection. If you want to know the actual temperature need to install a mechanical gauge. Also depends on where the sender is installed. If near the stat will be about 15-20 degrees...- fast 99

Need Help with Rear Brakes.
If the lines are clear verified with air from the master to rear cylinder bleeders either the master is bad or improper bleed procedure. Could try using a NEW pump oil can filled with brake fluid with a piece of hose attached to a line at master. See if any fluid can be pumped back there.- fast 99

Yes, bad radiator is a possibility. I suggested checking fan clutch first because it is very easy to do. I speak from personal experience on this one. 74 Elcamino bad fan clutch caused it to o-heat. New clutch, o-heating was no more. All I am saying is check it.- fast 99

Fan clutch and or radiator. Assume shroud is intact, fan blades are partially protruding from the rear. Could also add a fan with more blades or HD fan clutch. First item to check is fan clutch, that's easy.- fast 99

Fluid Changes
Yes, check oil condition in the axles and change if needed. If it's been a while or you don't know the history a good idea to look inside for metal pieces. I have caught many diffs [that weren't noisy] before complete failure by pulling covers.- fast 99

alternate? one side goes out and the other side lights? Sounds like a ground issue. Another problem that will absolutely drive a person nuts is a broken filament inside a bulb that drops down on the other filament.- fast 99
