Plug Wire Retainers
I posted pictures in your other thread. Is there a pull and save close to you? Otherwise try searching the Corvette or Camaro forums. Someone has to make the brackets. -
Spark Plug Wire Holders
Holders for that year have a lock type and I believe were for 8mm wire. They were usually white or gray but like ones pictured below. There is also a mounting bracket that was separate from the valve cover spreader bar. Different than the single piece I pictured below.- fast 99

Rear axle seal questions.
2081 national may fit. Seal can't be inspected during install. That's a problem with a speedy sleeve. It's more likely the outer double lip can fold back. I have never used a sleeve in that area. As suggested above polish the surface as best as possible and go with that. Also be very careful...- fast 99

1987 V3500 Engine update
Owned 2 C30 cab/chassis 1988 and 1989 1-ton DRW 454. Both were TBI. Do remember working on customer dual air pump carbed 454's during that time, unsure what year they were. Horrible to work on, guessing 87.- fast 99

Bleeding rear brakes on 1978 C30 dually
Most of our trucks were cab and chassis. And yes, very tight. When replacing shoes, always check the bleeder before installing anything. Stuck or clogged bleeder usually means removing the wheel cylinder or at the very least unbolting backing plate for access. Plate can be pulled away from... -

These are what I used. Bleeder should be 5/16 or 8 mm. Sometimes a long combination will work. If tight will need a box end wrench. top Matco SPW100 3/8 5/16 bottom Snap on B1458C 1/4 3/8 -

Can’t find a heater core for my c20 suburban…
Could be parts consolidation? Even on much later vehicles heater cores can be slightly different than OEM. -

Use number on top for internet search. Could also try used and with a vacuum pump check proper operation. Finding new ones may be difficult. I got lucky found a new one like you have near the radiator but that was a year ago.- fast 99

All carbs with an open bowl vent, fuel will evaporate with time. Overnight no, a week or 2 yes. Ethanol and higher temperatures it will be more problematic. Above + linkage has adjustments. Accelerator pump is in the front right corner. To check operation, engine off, open choke plate, look down venturis and open throttle. Should produce a reasonably strong squirt of fuel. Ethanol fuel is not your friend.- fast 99

Collapsed upper radiator hose
Could you explain further. Depending on configuration, isn't it possible air could still trapped in the system? The return hose goes back to the water pump in many cases. The air is now in the block and could uncover the stat? Systems that have returns back to the radiator right tank, agree.- fast 99

Had Tylenol in the toolbox will those work? lol Anyway use whatever method is easiest to vent the air. There will almost always be a little residual, usually need to add coolant after first heat cycle or 2.- fast 99

When filling an engine after repair good idea to leave thermostat housing off and fill until coolant is present. Then install stat before starting. Can do the same with a heater hose if located high on the engine. By the time a thermostat opens from steam engine is overheated.- fast 99

Respectfully disagree, had that problem on one of my trucks. Drove me nuts until I figured it out. Water pump pully diameters were not matched to the crank pully. One belt had to always slip. Didn't manifest itself until the belt was put under a higher load, squealed. It's actually quite easy...- fast 99

Best tires
Used to be a studded tire fan until I tried a set of Blizzaks for the daily driver. Whatever the tread is made out of works. Michelin has another ice tire but haven't tried those. I was a tech at a shop that sold tires. Hankook and BFG were the best tire for the money, casings were round and didn't need as much weight as some other brands. Have a set of each on 2 SB. Idle timing
Vacuum advance units can vary from about 10 - 30 degrees. Centrifugal weights, and springs can be much different as well. Usually, heavier [higher GVW] the truck lower total advance is. Although total advance may have been conservative back in the emissions days have to remember octane today...- fast 99
