Help With Parking Break Dash Light Staying On
Have seen the emergency brake assemblies so worn they will not return properly. Un plug wire on top light should go out. Can also do the same on the proportioning valve, unplug wire. Any emergency brake cable that sticks or drags emergency assembly may not return fully either. -
Starter Wiring
Once the terminals are corroded or burned only permanent fix is removal for buffing, sanding or replacement. Have to be clean or it creates heat which is what likely how the problem started.- fast 99

Rear body ground problems
There is a ground behind the rear reflectors. Fuel gauge is grounded at the sender. That wire is sometimes attached to frame top rail near the tank. Can I use this hole for filling oil?
Wouldn't cut the baffle out unless necessary. PVC will suck oil or possibly spray out on breather side. Once it's out it's gone.- fast 99

Bare Hands
Been wearing Raven or Challenger gloves for decades. Required when I painted cars if you want to stay alive that is. Doing mechanical my hands cracked from washing too many times a day. New build 454 and the wife hates the exhaust smell
With cat overly rich mixture will smell like rotten eggs. Depending on how rich it is possible the media could melt down, plug up and/or have a very short life. Lean mix will usually burn the eyes. Drop In Voltage from Windows and AC on
Above post matt69 first Although I agree using a relay may at least temporarily solve the issue it is really crutching an underlying problem. Even when new at idle AC on voltage dropped. Windows should work on battery voltage alone. Without engine running.- fast 99

Not necessarily, changing original design could open up the manufacturer to unwanted liability such as an electrical fire. If higher amp draw is suspected run through a relay.- fast 99

Thoughts on carb spacers?
2V carb? First move would be a 4V. Engine masters TV show tested several spacers. Most showed some improvement. Should be able to find video on youtube.- fast 99

Should be a visible pulse of fuel when cranking. 12v present at injectors? check for ground pulse on other side. Follow the diagnostic chart to the letter. Will take you to the offending issue. These trucks were never perfect when new. Bending door frame, blocks of wood, pry bars, and shims are all tools to improve the fit. The real test is when the hood is bolted on. Some aftermarket parts can make the process even more frustrating. May also need to enlarge mounting holes.- fast 99

Beautiful truck and black shows everything. Already have an AMD floor. Bed sides have too many repairs [mud] to ever look good even in white. Might be next winters project. Will add, you folks in the east have to deal with a lot of rust. It's really too bad shipping is so expensive. West coast... -

CARBURETOR DATED
Really sounds like a hot soak problem. Check fuel pressure and float setting. If that's ok try non-ethanol fuel. I have the same issue with a q-jet on hot days and tried AV gas as a test. That fixed it but at $7 a gallon not an option. Actually, back in the day some new vehicles had hot soak...- fast 99

I bought 2 pumps in a row that went bad in less than 60 miles. If pump ends up being bad buy Delco, Delphi or AC.- fast 99

Rear axle seal questions.
During disassembly for a leaky axle seal, first check for a loose bearing. Any looseness will decrease the ability to seal. If you're referring to an oil bath seal, be sure the hub is seated. Seals press on with quite a bit of resistance. Lubrication is a friend.- fast 99
