    1990 454 SS Pickup

Well to answer your first question no there is no recirc function. My 94 Suburban had one but the ss did not. Your second question is i have no clue lol!! The way mine works is on and or off then there is the fan speed. Seems like if I think about it after a short little bit the a/c seems to...

    1990 454 SS Pickup

Back in the day when these trucks were seen regularly you could buy performance parts for these trucks. SLP sold underdriven pulleys and a 3” mandrel exhaust kit for it. It still runs great with the original motor, buuuuuutt here is one I recently built for it. 468 ci .700 lift solid roller...

    74 window crank handles?!

That was my exact comment to the letter. Trim off what you need then bevel the tip and hit the splines real quick with a file. Viola problem solved. Might even be able to just hit the end with a fresh flap wheel.

    Questions about body work

Maybe he can and will but what you are talking about is the exception to the rule of diy bodywork, not the rule or norm. Sounds like you have been a body man for quite sometime and no doubt are very good at what you do and probably make it look easy. If he has someone like you around to help...

    Questions about body work

Biggest factor is can he pull all this apart in his driveway or does he have a big enough shop to do the work. I’ve seen guys do amazing stuff in small spaces and in there driveway and or 2 car garage but small spaces or exposed to the elements makes it more than twice as hard. It’s alot of...

    Joys of the 10 bolt

Yep easy does it don’t be in a hurry and like others said heat and patients. They do snap of easy. Sometimes a 3/8 impact turned down heat and just tap it back and forth gently the impact with some finesse will shock it loose. Steady pressure no heat and a cheater bar/barker bar will snap it...

    Questions about body work

I don’t want this to sound mean or rude. Please keep this in mind. If you don’t have $10,000.00 laying around or the skills, tools time and place to restore it, then don’t take it apart. Drive it and enjoy it until you have at least 10k to spend on it. Most of what you have rust on would’ve...

    Starting problems, now zero power!

Sounds like your headed in the right direction. I bought a brand new starter once for my 90 ss 454. I was leaving out of town and my wife needed the truck so I swapped it out real quick and it wouldn’t work man I checked everything twice finally I just pulled it back off two hours later and put...

    I AM STUMPED!

Ya the dual arched 3 hole flat strap looking pieces are still a mystery. :Big Laugh::Big Laugh: I sure appreciate everyone’s help though!!! That little rear spring hanger support bracket looks pretty important especially for a truck with a stroked 454. That was a big save. As I’m sure it helps...

    I AM STUMPED!

If you are talking about the rear bumper the ole cc didn’t have a rear bumper. It was a welding truck so it had a massive round tube welded on the very back and a “custom” double ball hitch on it. I’m wondering if it goes on the front bumper though all 3 holes were used it’s a bit wollered...

    I AM STUMPED!

Super great! that is where I have it is on the rear spring. I had to move the diff 3 3/8” forward because it was a chassis cab originally. Hence all the grade 8 bolts. Now all I need to do is drill holes and mount those suckers. I’ll be sure to post pics!! I never would have guessed that...

Like this? Only problem I see is there is only one rivet hole and it doesn’t quite line up. I mean it looks good and I sure like the idea of putting it there and using it for that purpose.

    I AM STUMPED!

I build street rods for a living and we always take pictures but when you are completely disassembling everything and are fabbing custom one off parts some times you just miss a piece or in the picture process. Especially when the project sits apart for 2 years like this one. The lesson is...
