I miss my 79 was a damn great handling driving all around awesome car. I paid 700 for it way back when . Drove it home actually. Pouring trans fluid hood popped on me , didn’t damage it ..and I was smiling all the way home .. gave it away basically, now there priceless it seems ..great job Swims...- JeffK10America

Dual tank switch kills the engine
Deutsch connector .. and you should be able to find one with a pigtail on it most auto parts stores . I have a kit at work for them . Although the tool to crimp is expensive. The pieces are reasonably cheap. And yep electric fuel pump will kill engine instantly with no power- JeffK10America

Auto or manual locking hub ?
Yes the super duty trucks are super crappy . The drivetrain is what your buying , my work truck is a 2019 with 24,000 ish miles 6.7 diesel wich is a good engine no doubt . The rest of the truck doesn’t impress me at all , crappy tailgate, crappy third doors shake when you open them . Almost like...- JeffK10America

Nice response from everyone. I was kinda waiting for some horror stories , the rite grease does make a lot of sense . I will repack them for sure, mostly personal preference ..if either are working correctly. Only thing I’ve ever owned with manual locking hubs was a Toyota, enough said there...- JeffK10America

Well my first car.. slash fix up! was a Volkswagen BAJA 1966 model then graduated up to a 1974 GTO . These are Polaroid pics girls and boys , not digital ! Then moved onto trucks, bikes and a Toyota , wich I don’t drive one now! then a 55 Chevy . 2500 was the price on that 55 … My friends 1974...- JeffK10America

Check this out .. of course the tanks had to come with 2 different appearances in coating and or color ! I like the gray look better ! Dorman products. Made in Taiwan is gray , the other in Canada . Guess I will be paint the other gray , or both gray to match . Can’t have one shiny plain and...- JeffK10America

Yes I agree it would make a lil easier, there a tad aggravating, the whole design. However I’ve seen worse . Bad grounds will cause headaches, but you mentioned gas gauge wasn’t rite . Most likely wouldn’t work at all if no ground was present.- JeffK10America

No I already had the bed off , as mine was destroyed by a tree before I bought it. But I would say it was easier to get to the rubber hoses and ground wire that connects to the sending unit . Mine has the plastic tank protectors , I just unbolted the whole bracket Assy, wich are a total off 8...- JeffK10America

Oil pressure gauge.
I just put a Tee in mine. Rite off the block , that way I’ve got a manual copper fed line to a gauge , plus my factory oil sender gauge still works! If it fails I’ve got my manual gauge , it will never fail!- JeffK10America

Building a free LT1 for my Camaro
LT1’s are great engines . Still running mine and it’s been ran hard, LS motors are great as well , but I am partial to the LT1 engines . Making little over 400hp and with a 3.73 rear haven’t had a 6 speed ls run me down yet in a 1/8 mile- JeffK10America
