    Compression readings on 78 350ci

At what altitude were these readings taken? That will affect the results. I would be concerned about #1. hopefully it's just a valve issue.

87 350 tbi runs fine until i stop

I hate all of those electronic issues. I am old school. Carb and non-electronic tranny.

    Too Low

    Another solution would be airbags

    Too Low

I think the fix would be complicated. You could put stock spindles on the front, but, what method was used to lower the rear? Did they put the leafs under the axle? Maybe you can just flip them. Otherwise maybe block them up.

    Jacking my truck

Why don't you just make a paper template? That way you don't need to remove anything.

Post a pic of your first car or restoration!

There are so many stories like that. I would love to have some of old cars today. I restomodded that 442. I bored and stroked the engine to 442 cu. in. That was just a little wild hair that I had. It dynoed at about 500 hp and about 520 tq. I took out the slushy 2 speed and dropped in a 700r4...

New from the Netherlands (Europe) • 1980 GMC C1500 Stepside

I'm getting about 6mpg here in Colombia. Regular gas runs about $2.50/gal but premium is almost double. I built the engine with 10:1 compression, so regular is out of the question. It's about $100 to fill the tank.

How important are orginal heads on a numbers matching engine?

A 1986 Sierra? Didn't they build about a gazillion of them? I wouldn't worry about numbers matching.

700r4 speedometer adjustment after gear swap help

It doesn't change with a gear change if your tire size remains the same.

Blue Print crate engines. Anyone here running them?

You didn't say what size engine you are considering for a replacement. Hopefully not another 305.

Why won't my TBI 350 run right??

I didn't see anything about what tranny you have. If it is a 700r4 or 4l60, you could have some issues with the TV cable.

    SBC cam swap

In my experience, I have never seen a cam swap alone make a big performance increase. The cam is part of the system consisting of the carb size, head flow, torque converter stall speed and gear ratio. I wouldn't get your expectations too high for just the cam swap, although, that spec seems...

    K5 Tailgate Closing Assist

I'm searching the internet for the torque spring that I must be missing. I have to do a front squat to close the damn thing.

    K5 Tailgate Closing Assist

From what I am being told, I am missing a torsion spring that is supposed to assist. I suspect they are either broken or missing.

Okay, I'll post a video as soon as I get it back from the shop. Apparently I put a stone through the rad. I'm getting it welded up.

    K5 Tailgate Closing Assist

The tailgate on my 78 K5 is extremely heavy and closing it is a real effort. I am a former powerlifter and I really struggle with it. I don't know if this model had some kind of closing assist when it was knew. I can't imagine a woman or small man trying to wrestle this. Am I missing something...
