    5 ac compressors

Black death is what they call it when a compressor goes bad and blows metal shavings all through the stystem and the oil is a black sludge. Usually common on Fords for some reason but anything can do it. Once you get black death if you don't flush it clean the old compressor will live a short life.

    5 ac compressors

Engage and disengage sounds like it's either low or high on charge. But what doesn't make sense is a compressor can do this for weeks and not burn up. Engaging and disengaging half a dozen times every 15 seconds won't hurt the compressor or clutch really.

    5 ac compressors

A recycler doesn't pull the or should I say all the oil out. It just recycles the freon.

    Insulation on a Budget

How about that peel and stick roofing material called like ice and water shield. Used in place of tar paper on first runs, and valleys, or on someone who wants to spend the money on the whole roof. I'm not sure how thick it is, been awhile since I saw any in hand. For sure not as thick as that...

    Oil Pan Gasket

Did you use the correct one? There 2 different ones and you need to measure the gap on your oil pan if I remember right to make sure you have the right one. The round part where is contacts in the front I believe...I think there difference is only like .25" or something.

    Oil Pan Gasket

I love mine. Seals tight, doesn't leak. Even pulled it off at least once to swap an oil pump back, long story . Anyway no oil leaks. The old 4 piece leaked like crazy but was hardned and past it's life so it might not be a super fair evaluation. Bit in the 15 years I had it , it leaked, and it...

    Air intake hosing

I have to order some things from LMC maybe. I might order the correct tube. I bought some black aluminum dryer type ducting off Amazon and Cramer it on both ends.

    Intake is Outgoing

Crap look at all that shit on top of that engine!

    Passenger side duct source.

Has anyone found a source for the 12" piece of 3 1/4" diameter duct? I have seen it in the repop parts companies stuff and found some generic ones on eBay but it's about $30 from places like LMC and on eBay it's about $50. This seems pretty excessive for a literal 12" piece of ducting. I know...

    Dome light

I can't find why this thing isn't working. Where does the wire go from the dome light? Where under the carpet does it run. I'm trying to trace this down. There is no power to socket with the door open or the light switched turned to on.

    Dome light

That's it. I also saw a #90 bulb listed in places and the same application. It's so weird that there is so many numbers but are the same.

    Dome light

I'm visiting making my done light work for the first time since I have owned the truck. That's like 15 years. I remembered this thread and it was the first in a search so I was reading back through it for any valuable info. That lightbulb doesn't look a bit like what my truck takes. It looks...

    Question about transmission

Edelbrock probably makes a linkage that will bolt onto the throttle shaft so that you can hook it up. It's nothing unique I am pretty sure all autos have a kick down linkage to drop the transmission when you floor it for passing gear.

Looking at 92 Yukon for my son

You can eliminate the ABS system and go right to the master. You will have lights on though. I would just go to pull a part and get an ABS unit. They give like 30 day warranties so if it's bad you can get another. Also as said replace all the rubber lines. There old and most likely collapsing or...

Which way do the valve cover hold downs go?

Thanks that answered my question. That's how I have them mounted on the driver side I did. I'm waiting on the passenger cover to soak so I can finish cleaning it.

Which way do the valve cover hold downs go?

I am replacing the old hard cork gaskets that have been leaking years. I have done the driver side , which was the hard side due to the AC and brackets. But I didn't pay attention and I believe that some may have been on wrong anyway. I have the chrome, probably Mr Gasket brand spreader bars and...

    Time for a Radiator Upgrade...?

100% your problem is a stopped up radiator. I'd have it rodded out!

    Time for a Radiator Upgrade...?

Thermostats are not your issue. You need one in there but it's not going to make any difference, your getting so hot any t stat is going to be wide open after just a few mins of running time .

Anyone know where I can procure these clips?

Go to a junkyard and pull them

    Stranded… could use some ideas.

There is also a bolt there on the front that they say you pull it out and can put a longer bolt into it and that holds the rod up while you bolt the pump on. Then you remove that bolt and put the small factory one back in .

    Stranded… could use some ideas.

I wouldn't say EFI is the only answer. When these things were new and even 20 years ago it was basically just as Hot as it is now in the summer. These trucks when new were workhorses more so than today. Pulling trailer loaded with all kinds of stuff, backs loaded with wood to go to a...

    Engine Advice?

Does GM performance parts still offer the first gen small blocks? You use to be able to get one for like $1600 I thought. This was not that many years ago I'm sure it had gone up to like 2000 but just as recent as a few years ago I thought I saw them advertised.

    Cab molding kit

When I got mine it was rusting from the holes. It had a repaint at some point as well. I also have owned it for 15 years or more so this was awhile ago. I live in the south so road salt is not used that often, but it is used in the area my truck is from. Maybe a time or two we might have it...
