What have you done to your square lately??

Swapped out the factory springs for a set of some belltech 2” drop springs and a pair of their drop shocks too, finally got the stance to where I like it. Oh and went to see my buddy and take a ride in his blown 440 roadrunner. And bought a 67 c10 fleetside swb too. Solid Saturday all around

What have you done to your square lately??

Didn’t get to it yesterday but I was able to pull the 350 / th400 / driveshaft after finishing up at the shop today. Did a quick pressure wash to get all the big chunks of shit off, reckon it’ll need some dollar store oven cleaner tho. a buddy at the shop keeps pressuring me to forget about LS...

Engine using excessive oil "opinions wanted"

Had a customer come back to the shop a few weeks after he got an oil change on his 78 C-30 (502 big block) saying he was super low on oil, no leaks to be found, but he didn’t mention any smoking.... was kind of stumped about it until I looked at his aftermarket valve covers. Didn’t have a...

    77-80 GMC grilles

Got these cross-posted in other places but figured I’d post em here too. Got 2 77-80 gmc grilles, both are the versions w/o the middle chrome trim, and have the GMC emblem embedded, rather than secured via posts/thread cutting washers. One of em is missing some fins by the latch release #1. The...

What have you done to your square lately??

Killed a few hours today on the 73 today, started out like this and ended up like this Can definitely see how far along I got cleaning up the firewall. Old drivetrain is getting yanked Monday, and then the 5.3 will go in shortly after.

What have you done to your square lately??

Tore into the 79s 350 to see what the F was up. Wherever the previous engine can from, someone had obviously put in some work, 462 heads, comp cam magnum pushrods, bolt one’s etc...from the noise it was making, there’s def a spun bearing and some sorta knocking too..throwing a known good 350 in...

What have you done to your square lately??

I actually enjoy wiring. Was thinking of grabbing a donor harness and removing a large enough section to splice in so I can have enough extra room to mount all the ecu/computer stuff under the dash instead of in the engine bay

What have you done to your square lately??

Around my neck of the woods, a lot of folks got the flashy new chargers n challengers n mustangs etc, and I figure with something that looks that crusty on the outside, they’ll have no clue what it’s got on the inside until I’m at the next light

What have you done to your square lately??

And for anyone wondering what I mean by “super-shitbox”, this is the 73 in all of its glory before it gets LS swapped and bagged lol

What have you done to your square lately??

Made a lotta moves on the projects and nothing on the daily driver -79..new fuel lines, new sending unit, rebuilt the Holley, new plugs and wires, new PS pump, pulley, and the correct bracketry, went to fire it and the mechanical fuel pumps bad...used an electric pump feeding from a gas can and...

Thanks again man...I’m bummed the original pearl gray panels are too chalky to run, but these should make for an excellent substitute. I’ll holler when they touchdown.

    73-77 silverado woodgrain steering wheel

The wood grain would have been a nice touch but the same customer also left behind an instrument bezel, grille, a set of good door panels and arm rests, visors, and a sweet woodgrain compass that mounts on the bezel. Gotta agree with you tho, I’d be weary of grabbing anything off of em.

    73-77 silverado woodgrain steering wheel

Against my better judgement, he requested I send it as friends & family, rather than goods n services. And if ya factor the time you’d spend dealing with PayPal, it’s probably not worth it... rather just move on from it

    73-77 silverado woodgrain steering wheel

Ironically, I wound up with the same wheel, for free. Restored a customers truck and put a new billet wheel in for em, and he didn’t want his perfectly good n clean wheel. So it worked out

    73-77 silverado woodgrain steering wheel

Bumping this back up. Not only was I never sent the steering wheel, I got a bunch of excuses (some valid and understandable, assuming they were true) and eventually @fast68chevy just stopped replying. This was only after being told “my brother is mailing It” “I’ll check with him” “ I got sick...
