Still the same number as the one posted in this thread, and for good measure, here’s the screenshot of him confirming his PayPal and me sending a screenshot I took confirming the money was sent. but hey at least I’m not in a clapped out shitbox looking for old cracked parts, that have to be...

What have you done to your square lately??

Took the 87 on a road trip, stopped in lower Alabama to see my mom, went out to the old family cemetery/farm, then headed down to Seagrove beach, just west of Panama City Beach. Put about 900 miles on it from Thursday to today. No issues whatsoever with it. Even got it over 95mph a few times...

What have you done to your square lately??

87 … I put a new high side AC line in cuz my old one had a bad Schrader valve and the threads on the service port were stripped too…Changed the old orifice tube while the old line was out, recharged the system and it’s blowing cold again.

    1973 upper ignition housing

Yeah man, always figured it was more or less all the same as long as it was from the same era, or from tilt to tilt, or non tilt to non tilt. Rebuilt a tilt column for an 88 blazer, using the tilt internals from an obs column and everything was fine lol. The upper housing I got off ebay that...

@custodian @Mr Clean - After posting here, I checked marketplace and found a guy about 10minutes away that had a complete 73 non tilt automatic, column for 40$. Literally just seeing yalls replies right now. If we’re talking 73-83 columns with the skinny turn signal lever, there’s def a...

    1973 upper ignition housing

Figured out a section of the pot metal snapped in side my ignition housing on my non tilt column. Ordered a replacement and figured out that 73 was slightly larger in diameter and had a different shift detent plate. Anybody got some 73 non tilt column parts?

What have you done to your square lately??

Swapped the 73’s ammeter out for a voltmeter and ran a power and ground off the temp gauge to the voltmeter. As much as I’d like to keep all the factory gauges for this trucks LS swap, I’m kind of torn between picking up a Dakota digital/ squarebody syndicate cluster, or swapping a burb’s...

Adding trim to a plain sided 79

Installed some on a base model 77. Pain in the dick. The original trim pieces are thin enough as is, but the LMC stuff is even thinner and super prone to bending/kinking/creasing etc. so if you’re not super careful and meticulous with your instal, you’ll def F em up. When it was time to drill...

    1981 Silverado

Shoot, I was at the ATM and a dude came out of the bank, asked “how much” told em 14k (because who would pay that?!) and to my surprise he was like, “cool, let’s go inside and get it handled”...def didn’t expect em to actually have it, and had to quickly say I was fuckin with em. now tho. Noob here looking for help deciding wether to purchase a new crate motor or do an engine re-fresh

Yeah that’s just for the labor. Some folks bring in a built n blueprinted expensive motor to put in. Some just wanna throw something affordable, reliable, close to stock in there. So depending on what engine ya go with, def set aside some stacks. So, as ironic as this sounds, forums are...

It’s def not a bad way to go! Wouldn’t hurt to run with a fuel injection set up too.

Noob here looking for help deciding wether to purchase a new crate motor or do an engine re-fresh

@Midnightmoon our shop tells folks the same thing, more cost efficient to just get a new motor then to try n save an old sbc.

Noob here looking for help deciding wether to purchase a new crate motor or do an engine re-fresh

First off, welcome! Once you pinpoint why it’s shutting off, you’ll have a better idea about what your cost to fix that particular issue will be. At the shop I’m at, engine swaps run about 1600$ In labor plus consumables (oil, coolant, etc). Some folks just want a no frills, basic ass sbc 350...

    77-80 GMC grilles

I can take some for ya tmrw. I want to say there isn’t a mount for the sides, but rather 3 tabs up top and 3 tabs on the bottom, screwed in and attached via sliding plastic body nuts. Surely a GMC illustrated parts/service manual for 77-80 would have it shown too

    77-80 GMC grilles

Full send trying to pop the hood. The grille on my 79 is also in great shape! After restoring a gmc, I quickly realized how much of a pain in the ass finding original parts are so I try to buy any original stuff that’s branded

What have you done to your square lately??

Wasn’t on any of my trucks but did fix a customers tilt column...larger fella with an 88 Blazer...said he used the steering wheel to get into the truck and heard a loud snap, he was still driving it even tho you could change gears by turning the wheel, which he had to hold up while driving, and...
