    Another dieseling thread

Timing has got not one thing to do with the engine running on. Once the key is turned to the off position spark and timing is removed from the equation and bad fuel has nothing to do with runon. It is the idle speed being set too high that causes the engine to run on. A lot of the carbed...

    Another dieseling thread

Install a kick down idle solenoid on the throttle, set the idle speed with the kicker down, turn the idle plate stop screw to about 550 to 600 RPM, when the key is turned off, the kick down will drop the throttle plates to what the curb idle screws is set at, then, no more diesel run on.

Tired 350 TBI, suggestions to wake it up a bit?

I like to install a new timing chain/sprocket set at about 200,000 miles, along with an oil pump and pan gasket. Toughest part about the oil pump is getting the oil cooler hoses out of the way, if so equipped.

Help-Get out differential shaft lock bolt

Looking at the wear on the shaft, the holes in the ring gear carrier is probably wobbled out just as bad, not much fix for that other than a new RG carrier.

stock 12 bolt shim or crush washer

It might depend on the year the 12 bolt diff is from. For Me, it seems I always get the crush sleeve squished down too far, so then, I add a shim to make up the difference. If the drive shaft is too short, that has nothing to do with the yoke being a crush sleeve or shims, that has to do with...

Welcome, from Eastern Montana. Yeah for sure on those differential breather tubes, they get busted and even the humidity in the air will rust out those differential side bearings. Its a long story so I`ll now stop right there. :happy160::happy175::happy175::happy175:

89 year is OBD1, cross the A and B pins in the ALDL connector, see if any codes comes up. How is the idle ? rough like a carbed engine with the choke pulled on ? WTB Gauge Cluster W/Air Pressure Gauge.

The factory air pressure gauge will have two needles, one for service brakes and one for emergency brakes. Watch out for the emergency side needle, if it gets too low it could quickly apply Your parking brake.:happy175::happy175::happy175::happy175:

Manual hubs on 203 without part time conversion

I had gone through the rebuild of a 203 after part time hubs had been installed. Inside the T~Case there is a small differential and spider gears, just like in a differential, running part time hubs will destroy that differential. Best to lock in the hubs and run it that way until a part time...
