    Fitting of twin gas tanks

So do you have a fuel pump on the engine too? Or are you just running the two electric pumps? I am hoping I don't have too big of a task on my hands with my 76 GMC I am doing, but from what I have seen the cobble job under the hood that I just cleaned all up, the tank wiring is my next job to...

    Dual tank wiring

This is my next project to tackle on my 76 GMC crew cab with dual tanks. 75gmc, I see you said the wiring diagram kind of sucks from GM, but do you have one to post, or does anyone for that matter? I found some diagrams for the fuel/return/vapor line which makes sense to me, but I don't...

    Thoughts?

No denying at all someone did a crap ton of work on it, but holy crap, why ruin a nice truck.... Why in the hell would you do a front end swap with that gorgeous/mean looking '74 front end for an 81? Stupid. That interior....ugghh, nevermind. Maybe the guy thinks it is super cool and that is...

HELP!!! New valve springs, but my oil seals won't fit....now what??

Yes, I totally understand where you are coming from! Comp Cams, and Summit Racing do carry the cutters and the arbor to chuck them up into a cordless/drill to do an at home job, and the arbor is the same O.D. as the I.D. of the valve guides. I would have to roll each cylinder up to TDC so the...

HELP!!! New valve springs, but my oil seals won't fit....now what??

Mine are NOT .530 currently. They are .575/.577 O.D., so it would have to go down to .530.....I am learning, never ripped into an engine to do this stuff before, mostly have done stock or mild builds. The valve stem is .343/344 (11/32).

HELP!!! New valve springs, but my oil seals won't fit....now what??

They suggest I use the PTFE seals, but after reading reviews it looks like they suck. I would rather use the Viton type seals if I can find some with an O.D. that would fit nicely with the I.D. of the inner spring (.697)...and I believe my valve stems are the 11/32 ('69 Olds Rocket 455).....but...

HELP!!! New valve springs, but my oil seals won't fit....now what??

That is .697 I contacted Comp Cams this morning and I need to purchase a few different things. I learned more over the weekend talking to a few people than I cared to learn :D So, I need to degree the cam (never have done this, I usually set by timing gear marks), so I need to update my...

HELP!!! New valve springs, but my oil seals won't fit....now what??

Thanks for the info. I will surf around and see if I find something. Kind of a bummer, but this gives me some time to prep the block for paint so I guess its not the end of the world. I really wanted to get this part done and be finished, but what fun would it be if everything went as you think...

HELP!!! New valve springs, but my oil seals won't fit....now what??

I am now stopped on my engine work. I am trying to get my 1969 Olds 455 ready for my 76 GMC, however I put in the new comp cams Thumpr cam, and I opened up my new comp cams valve springs (dual) from summit racing (part# 995-16) and now my umbrella style oil seals will not fit inside of the dual...

76 GMC gauge cluster swap (no tach cluster to a tach cluster)

I certainly hope it is that easy! If I have to re-pin a wire or two I guess that is fine too, but I am hoping I don't have to. Wanted to check before I accidentally make more work for myself :D

76 GMC gauge cluster swap (no tach cluster to a tach cluster)

I figured before I go making a LOT of work for myself, and possibly screwing something up I wanted to ask all of you first (see, I have learned my lesson the hard way in the past!!). I am going to be putting into my truck (76 GMC Sierra Grande (1 ton)) the gauge cluster/instrument panel from...

What have you done to your square lately??

Do you need one of those? I have 2 nice ones for my 76 GMC, looks exact to mine. Not sure what year yours is, but did they really change?? If a 76 would work for you send me a PM and let me know. You can have it.

What have you done to your square lately??

I was finally able to start re-installing the interior today! Working on taking stuff off my other 76 that has never been touched so it is nice to have something like that so I know how stuff is supposed to be! Here is the insulation which I finished last night. I then put in the carpeting...

I have to agree with you, that baby looks beautiful sitting at that stance, its like it was meant to be!! Sweet looking ride, not too low, not too high, but just that "mean" looking stance. Nice truck!

What have you done to your square lately??

Oh man I love that sound!!!! Good choice 82!!! Even in my dads 78 Suburban Camper special (what a beautiful rig!! What have you done to your square lately??

What swap are you doing? (Here goes my opinion again :D )....those quadrajets are a very badass carb when tuned up properly, but then again I am bias (well I am now, I used to hate them)!!! I had a Holley 6-fiddy on my 455 Rocket Olds, and it did not perform close to that of my re-built...

What have you done to your square lately??

I wouldn't put that old fan in. Fix what you have, your blade angles & everything are different on both, IMO you are taking a few steps back here. That fan resembles what is on my Flathead's, which did not require the same as what your truck requires to help keep it cool.

What have you done to your square lately??

Interior, then engine! Then setting angle on rear end.
