Got an update. The carter pump worked awesome, well worth the few extra bucks for it. I bought it from Napa so in case I had issues again I can easily return it. That's a bummer. I hope this carter does the trick, plan to install either tonight or tomorrow. For the fire up and tuning of this truck so far I have ran 91 non-oxy fuel, but the cost is crazy so when I drive it I plan to run 87 in it. I hope this pump works, really sick of working on this...- OldBlueDually

I will do that! The setting was suggested at 1/16" below deck of carb, but watching a video from one of them there car show/tech videos they said to set at 1/8" so I did. I talked to a few other mechanics about this issue I shared with you guys, and I have the same opinion at this point that they do......clean up axle tubes & inside of axle, replace the pitted bearings, bad seals, clean up the grooves on the spider shaft, and just put the thing back together...- OldBlueDually

@bucket I don't have any pics here on my PC at work, however in my thread there is a couple pics, not really good ones though. You can see the pitting on the ring gear somewhat, and the shiny on the pinion...- OldBlueDually

Ah, I see! However...."IF" those mounts are specific to the truck chassis (like what I need) they are worth a little money, and I could certainly use them. For a 58 Olds project (freaking sweet cars by the way, love that style!) you can use about any mount you want. These mounts I talk about...- OldBlueDually

What kind of engine? What kind of truck? (86 S10 with 4.3 V6?) A tick is "usually" just lifter/pushrod noise, you may have a weak lifter possibly. Under load and knocking could be a sign of a loosed rod/worn rod bearing. If you are driving it and have it under load it knocks....what does it...- OldBlueDually
