8 bolt rims that are 16" & will fit hubcaps.....??

The ones I have been finding have a crap ton of rust, or they have tires mounted on them the people won't remove and I don't want to drive all over to pick stuff up. Local yards did not have anything either. Sucks.

What have you done to your square lately??

Hey now!!!! Fords were real up until the Flathead V8 went away in 1954..... That truck is next in the shop after my 76 GMC. Putting the original Flathead V8 back in it....but slightly modified :D:cool:

What have you done to your square lately??

@80BrownK10 @Vbb199 Good information to know!!! Thanks guys! I burned up the original TH400 behind this 455 back in '07....talking with my car cruising friends/hot rodders they think it is because I did not have my kickdown wired up. This 455 & TH400 was in my 51 Ford truck, barely made it...

What have you done to your square lately??

@80BrownK10 & @Vbb199 So what is the proper stuff to run in an automatic 3 speed TH350 that has a 2,000 stall converter? This would be very valuable information for me if any of you guys have experience with this stuff. I will be bolting up my 455 Olds with an adapter to the TH350. I want...

What have you done to your square lately??

Well, I installed this timing set.... To degree in the cam.....and degree it, and degree it, and degree it again, and again, and again, and again, and again....holy shit, I lost count...could not get it right no matter where I set any of the 3 keyways on the bottom gear!!! I then...

    Need advice--Camshaft degree issue (maybe??)

@QBuff02 @MikeB @jeff406cid @shiftpro I think I got it this time!!! Close enough! I put on my new Cloyes timing gear set (BTW there was NOT 3 holes in the upper gear as the picture shows), but the 9 keyways with 2 degree cuts really helped. I first did it to "stock" setting, and my number...

No SB for this big ole' truck. I'm putting real power in it :D (sorry, I am biased towards Olds engines). Yeah! What he said!!

I hate you!!! I mean, what I meant to say.....that is so fricken awesome, man I wish mine had gone like that!!!! I will still have some low end torque, probably not as much as with an RV cam or something, but still fun. Some year I plan to throw on a dual 4-bbl tunnel ram intake just for the...

After I get the cam degreed properly I will be reviewing the rest of those items to verify all is good, and hopefully close to target. No matter what cam I were to put in this, I would be doing the same exact thing to make sure it is all good.

    Need advice--Camshaft degree issue (maybe??)

This cam is ground with a lobe separation of 107 degrees, and you are to degree it in at 102 degrees. So the LSA-Cam Degree=5 degrees of advance built into the cam. If you add my stock gears with another 4....holy crap that is 9 degree total. So if I degree it within 1.5 degrees either side of...

I said screw it, I am done effing with this thing, I called up Competition Products (where I bought my timing set I am using) and they happened to have a Cloyes double roller timing set, 9 keyways in the bottom gear, and 3 holes in the top gear!! NOW when this arrives I will get this dam thing...

    Dies when put into gear

Out of curiosity sake, when the truck is idling will it rev up & down nicely when you ease slowly on the gas and let off? Now how about when you hit the gas harder, what does it do? Hitting the gas harder will put that quick load on the engine without it being in gear, so one would think it may...

Well shit, went to comp cams to compare prices and used that part number......a different damned timing set is pictured here at comp. I already have this set..... https://www.compcams.com/magnum-double-row-timing-set-for-65-83-oldsmobile-260-455.html Not sure why summit would show a different...

    Need advice--Camshaft degree issue (maybe??)

So close, yet so far! For the hell of it I put in my stock timing set, that came out to 98 degrees so it is 4 degrees advanced! I think what I should do instead of continually pissing around with this is buy another new gear/chain set that has more adjustment to it. Right now my lower sprocket...

    Need advice--Camshaft degree issue (maybe??)

Ok, thought about this more. YES....I was setting my degree wheel back to 0 and starting over. Should I set the degree wheel to also be 4 degree advanced?? Then start the process? This is the first time I have ever degreed a cam before, so still learning here. Watched a whole bunch of youtube...

Man, I am not sure on that one?? I have it back at stock setting now. Getting sick of re-doing the same damned thing over and over and getting the same effing results.

@QBuff02 I believe I understand your method now, I did exactly what you suggested and ended up with the same result of TDC, and cam centerline of 105.5 degrees. So I am still off of 102 by 3.5 degrees. Shit. I adjusted my stop too, so I was matching 34 degrees each side of TDC by moving the...

    Need advice--Camshaft degree issue (maybe??)

Ok, so bear with me here to be sure I understand this. Let's use the numbers I had (just for my sake :D ). When I did the positive stop in each direction, the two numbers added together & divided by 2 equaled 83. My degree wheel was sitting at 84 degrees. Now I have to go 83 degrees on the...

    Need advice--Camshaft degree issue (maybe??)

@QBuff02 I took your words here & will reply.... Generally how I do it is I put the timing set on and then rotate the #1 piston up to tdc as close as I can by eye and then install the degree wheel and the makeshift pointer on tdc Yes, this is exactly what I did. i'd then back the piston...

    Need advice--Camshaft degree issue (maybe??)

With my timing gear marks lined up (as pictured above) I set my degree wheel to TDC (I should have said this earlier!). I then rotated the engine to install my stop. Then I rotated the engine in each direction until it hit my stop & recorded the numbers. I added them two numbers together &...

See my first post my friend :D (it was 97.5 degrees, so 4.5 degree advanced).
