Chevy / GMC are probably the least common. Hence why i bought the Dodge, plenty about. Most common over here are the Rams and F series Fords usually 150s or 350s. Even the later Chevys are quite rare and usually appear in the form of a well spec’d newish Tahoe/Suburban or a Camaro.

Have i decoded this VIN correctly????

TBH, i just wanna get home. Get pics and get everyones opinion on if its an original chassis. The joys a being a “long distance” truck driver. I say “long distance” because the miles we can do are nothing compared to in America. Photos I have so far, courtesy of my wife. Quite hard to get...

Anything older than 40yrs in the UK, as long as it meets certain requirements for originality, don’t require any annual inspections or emissions checks.

Have i decoded this VIN correctly????

I’m going over this weekend to hopefully get the frame number, engine and axle numbers and a bucket load of pictures of all over everywhere, under, inside, front to back, left to right, top to bottom. That will all hopefully be enough for them to compare and verify remotely.

Have i decoded this VIN correctly????

So, I have a plan. Kind of. I have spoken to a highly regarded UK based American vehicle club who also know the ins and outs of our DVLA (vehicle registration) system. Their members are regarded as an official reference to age and identify imported and restored vehicles. Through their...

Further VIN questions. all chassis VINs just partials?

Its for sale in the UK but the VIN on the documents is for a C10 but its 4wd. Its been like that since it was imported. Presume it had a body swap in the USA before being brought over.

Further VIN questions. all chassis VINs just partials?

I’m UK based so not entirely sure how i would go about proving its an original K series chassis, with a C series body.

Further VIN questions. all chassis VINs just partials?

Thanks for all the help on my other posts guys, really appreciate it. I have had a search through the forum for VIN locations and now know where to look on the chassis but all the examples given are just partials. Is the complete VIN not stamped on the chassis? Ideally i need it to tell me...

Have i decoded this VIN correctly????

Awesome help chaps! Yes I think it’s a bit of a frankenstein too! I have a photo of the VIN on the dash but it is unreadable, looks like multiple layers of paint. Need to have a look in person. The VIN i have got is off its UK registration documents and MOT certificates. Any chance of a...

Have i decoded this VIN correctly????

The question marks related to my whole decoding of the whole VIN. It is a 6.2 diesel 5th digit is cab / chassis layout. I thought C was RWD and K 4WD?? This is definitely 4WD and i want to know if there will be a VIN on the chassis somewhere so i can confirm if its an original K series or...

Have i decoded this VIN correctly????

Got some further details of a K10 i’m looking at but the VIN appears incorrect. 2GCEC14C1C1216200 If i’m reading it correctly Canadian built, C10, 6.2 diesel??? If anyone can confirm that would be great. Also is there a VIN number stamped on the chassis anywhere? Reason I am querying it...

Issues with being stood for a long time?

Thats my aim. In the UK i can get a drive away C10 for £8000 to £20,000, all seem in decent condition. The £20k motors are modded, tuned, fully restored (K10s seem a bit rarer). I’d like to get this for less than £5k under the presumption it may need a moto rebuild and definitely needs tyres...

Issues with being stood for a long time?

Couple of poor picture, its just had loads of stuff piled up around it while it’s been sat. Its a very cool looking truck. The price has to be absolutely bang on for me to make the risk is worth it. I’m waiting for more details about it as i know nothing about them. Its diesel so presuming...

Issues with being stood for a long time?

Hey guys. New to the forum UK based and looking to buy a modified K10 6.2 diesel, 1983 model. The issue? Its been sat in a warehouse and hasn’t even been started since 2012. I’ve had an quick inspection and overall its body condition seems good for its age. Minimal obvious rust, chassis all...
