    05+ super duty axles?

It's a non-issue, given the '05+ request, but your info isn't 100% correct. '04-down DID use Dana 60s, as well as Dana 50s. '05+ Dana 60s have more robust unit bearings. They're definitely a go-to axle for the rock crawler/bouncer crowd. @plugugly - What are you planning on doing for a...

Anyone use the Yukon diff covers?

I have one on the 14 bolt of my '86 CUCV. It is VERY nice. I did have to get some spacers and longer bolts to work with the existing brake splitter bracket, but other than that minor setback (not the fault of Yukon or the specific cover), I'm very pleased with the cover itself. Craig

    Skinny mudders

If you're not hell-bent on keeping your stock 16" wheels, I run LT255/80R17 Nittos on Hummer H2 wheels on my '86 CUCV. They're a 33" diameter. I absolutely love the skinny tire look...have for decades. It's an all-terrain, but has side lugs that give it a more aggressive look. 17" wheels...

    A/C design

I just pulled an almost new A/C compressor off my '87 R10 305 engine, and will be listing it here soon. I won't be running air, and have all the brackets (just need to round up a non-A/C bracket to support the bottom of the power steering pump). Craig

*SOLD* Military M1028 CUCV Shelter Carrier Hardware

The M1028 was an even heavier CUCV variant designed as a shelter carrier. I won't be using the carrier brackets/hardware for my project truck. I'm including a photo of the brackets/hardware included, and also one of them installed on the bed for reference. These would work great for a...

*SOLD* Clean '85 Fleetside long bed sheet metal (bed floor, front bed panel & wheelhouses)

I have a bed floor, front bed panel and wheelhouses from a 1985 military M1028 CUCV (K30). The underside of the bed is still black paint in nice condition. This truck had a communications shelter with its own floor, so the sheet metal was much more protected than a typical military truck/work...

OEM dual gas/fuel tanks, valve, hardware, etc. (1985 C10)

I pulled the dual fuel tanks, hangers, valve, protective valve "shield", etc. off the essentially rust-free North Carolina 1985 GMC 1/2-ton rolling chassis I bought for my project truck. Filler necks/hoses are also included, but one is missing the fill cap. The rubber parts are old/dry, but...

Show me your 8 lug wheels!

No rubbing here. I have 1/2"+ clearance between the drag link joint and driver-side front tire at full lock to the right. My previous tires (over 12" wide, and on the truck when I bought it) *did* rub when turning to the right. I had Discount Tire confirm the fit of the front driver tire...

'85 C10 tire fit/stuff question (not the normal questions you're used to seeing here)

Thanks. Glad you like the LJ. Here are a few more pics. It flexed nicely. Unlike my other Jeeps, I had help with the LJ build by an amazing shop/guy with a strong CNC & wheeling background. He designed the steering, and is 100% to credit for the amazing handling. The shop is no...

'85 C10 tire fit/stuff question (not the normal questions you're used to seeing here)

I found a square body-specific low-COG (prerunner) truck that certainly got me salivating. This beaut rolls on 40" tires.

'85 C10 tire fit/stuff question (not the normal questions you're used to seeing here)

Yes, it was a tug version (CJ-10a). I had two of them at one point. The cab is actually fairly small...standard CJ width/dimensions. The tugs, though, were actually mounted on a shortened FSJ (Full-Size Jeep) frame, but with about 50% thicker frame rails. They're cool little vehicles, and...

Nice truck...welcome from East Tennessee. I'm not sure where you're at in SW Michigan, but I grew up in Edwardsburg, lived in St. Joe for a couple years, and was in GR since the late '90s (moved to TN a few years ago).

Rear wheels are sucked in way more than front. K10. Adapters? BAD IDEA? pics inside

I'm sure that Doppleganger is on to something here. It's not a GM-specific thing. Jeeps had narrower rear axles than the fronts, as well. For example, wide-track CJs ('80s-era) had front axles that were about 2" wider than the rear (56.5" front, 54.5" rear). Craig
