I have Edelbrock E-Street EFI on a 400ci. I am at 5400+. What should I set my AFR to? I have been looking for an answer to that for almost a year. My truck is getting horrendous gas mileage and it seems to be running crappier. Any suggestions?
Holy Crap! ! ! Did they never change the oil in that? Makes me wonder what the inside of my 400 looks like. Now you got me wanting to take my intake off! Damn you! ! !
It does improve Gas mileage. I got a 50% increase in MPG. I went from 4.12 to 6.85. It is other stuff wrong with the engine that is preventing better fuel economy. But hey, I don't call it 6.85 Miles per gallon, I call it 6.85 SMILES per gallon.
If you don't have shoulder harness like my 76 didn't, I mounted it beside the passenger's head. And since you're tall, you can just reach over and flip the release and have the extinguisher in your hand in one move.
I had this problem, sort of, when the headlights were on, my Right Signal was dim. Turned out it was a small short in the front right marker light. Change out the sockets and it should correct the turn signal indicators from lighting up when the head lights are on.
I thought they're different sized lines. 1 should be 5/8" and the other should be 11/16". Not on my truck they're both the same.

I just replaced my lines, and I think I got them reversed. Can anyone tell me on this picture which opening is for the pressure line from the pump. I have a 1976 K10 with a 400.

How come none of the pictures are showing up on this thread? I have the same problem in a 76 K10 with a 400. My power steering belt is really loose.

I am having the same problem with my pressure line. It looks different than my original. Here are 2 pics. The new one is interfering with adjusting/tightening the pump belt. No one has the exact replacement as the original. When I remount the pump, i can't get the line to screw into the...
WOW! ! That is 14.xx per mile. What is your engine and and what altitude are you at? I just replaced my Rochester Queer Jet (Sorry for the non politically correct term) with an Edelbrock EFI TBI system. and I am hoping for the same. But after 300 miles, I am only getting about 6.25mpg. It was...
I know if it was a single tank on a 76 Long Bed, it was a 20 gallon. I have one of those. I bought this 76 Short bed recently with 2 tanks and they are a 16 gallon. I don't know if you could fit 20s in a short bed. And the straps may be a little off for the 16s in a long bed. See if a bed mount...
Send me your buddy's name! I want him to come over and get mine opened.
I was replacing the window felt strips on a 1976 Chevy K10 and I shut the door to go get something and when I came back the door would not open. I had the door panel removed from the inside and I think maybe that some of the...
Thanks, but all the mechanisms for the outside door handle and the inside door handle are working, it just isn't releasing the Bear Claw that latches the door shut on the striker. The linkage from inside moves the arm that you circled in red and the locking linkage seems to be working. I think I...
Charlie, Thanks for the welcome! ! ! I remembered I have an endiscope that I bought to look at the cylinder heads and I am going to look at it tomorrow.
I have looked online for any help, but have spent the last 3 hours looking to no avail. I will keep you posted. But I think I may be crawling...
I was replacing the window felt strips on a 1976 Chevy K10 and I shut the door to go get something and when I came back the door would not open. I had the door panel removed from the inside and I think maybe that some of the debris from the dry rotted window felt fell into the door mechanism...
I had my original 1976 Custom Deluxe K10 Ziebarted. They drilled 3 holes in the roof to insert spray heads to spay the roof panels with the Ziebart rustproofing product. In my truck the 3 holes were drilled behind the visor and in the back above the window. Check to see if the plugs have the...
