Got to a project I was putting off... Swapping to a tilt column

My legs are long and if the wheel isn't tilted up, it is a real PIA to get out of the truck. I do notice that the Steering wheel is closer to me than in my old non-tilt truck.

    No way this is right?

I personally think they have the Valve covers on the wrong side. The breather hose should be on the rear of the passenger side and the PCV should be on the from of the driver's side cover. With the original style air filter, there is a connection for the hose on the passenger side to go up into...

    Any original squares out there?

I went online and looked at it. That is a silk purse made out of a Sows ear. That truck was used for snow plowing. I wouldn't touch it with your 10 foot pole. There is a lot of surface rust on that to be asking that much money.

    Any original squares out there?

Oh, I don't think it is worth it for that price. But it is a nice truck. I got my truck with 76,000 and I sure did not spend that kind of dough. And I think mine is a nice truck and I don't have to worry.

    1975-76 GMC Grill?

WOW, I was hoping you wanted to take yours off, too. I need help. I just took my grill off yesterday and wanted to know the same thing. I want to paint my grill and really did not want to have to mask all the chrome on the grill to paint it. Mine is from a Chevy and the 4 chrome strips seem to...

    New hood hinges for 73-80?

At 750 a pair, I will keep oiling my hinges and closing my hood the right way. Plus, I have had to change the hood struts twice on my Acura. I can't imagine finding replacement struts for this that are that small.

    EFI Fuel Pump Options

That is the Sump pump that I have on my 1976 with an Edelbrock E-Street EFI 3600. The only problem with this setup that I see is there is no way to run a line back to the Fuel Tank as the instructions say. Mine tends to leak on warm days out of the bottom. I am going to change to an electric...

    Quadrajet junkies

But they didn't produce a 400 for the C/K in 1974. 1976 was there first year they put that motor in that generation truck. And i thought yours was a 1974. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Removing paint and "polishing" it while maintaining patina?

I will try that next. But with my luck I'll miss the wood and smash my hood and put a big dent in it. LOL. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Removing paint and "polishing" it while maintaining patina?

I will let you know how I do when I try my method. Then I'm going to put the braces on it so it stays flat! Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Removing paint and "polishing" it while maintaining patina?

My next step is to use a hydraulic jack between the garage door and the hood while it is propped open. Wish me luck. I hope I don't bend it the other way. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Removing paint and "polishing" it while maintaining patina?

How are you going to go about flattening the hood? I have a little bend in mine and it bugs me. I tried propping it open and pressing down on it. Didn't work though. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

    Quadrajet junkies

    Holy crap! ! I have an original from a 1976 400SBC. I think I will re-build mine and "re-color" it. 1300 could do a lot for my truck! ! ! Actually I have 2. One on my original 76 I bought in 1976.
